Re: Standardized Equipment & Implementation Guidelines- What & When????
Ah, the dark arts of dealing with FM! Sounds like you're fighting the good fight brother and doing all you can. I'm sure you've got this in hand but I always make sure I have stacked everything possible in my favour when approaching them. For me that usually means that I have the full support of the...

Re: Standardized Equipment & Implementation Guidelines- What & When????
Our stake hasn't received any pushback for funding our full permanent setup, we just weren't allowed to mount anything via FM insistence. I would talk to FM about what they're willing to do. It might be a extra power outlet, or a line for audio. Whatever can help make your setup less reliant on lon...

Re: Creating an additional Zoom Account
Look into the "host key". You can set up the class and give them the host key. With that, they can administer the class without knowing the login. There are some settings that have to be set right for it to work - for example, you have to allow people to join before the host. This is the ...

Re: More Permanent Setup for Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts
We just had an Ethernet socket and an audio output socket installed in a more usable location than on the stand. FM were really cooperative and quick to complete the install from time of request. Ok, we don't have any permanent camera mounted, but we do have 2 new wall boxes that are specifically fo...

Same for me at the ward level. There are a couple of settings locked but HD is not one of them.

Re: Getting Audio right with Virtual Sacrament Meeetings
If you are using zoom then just check the box to use original audio when it comes to the hymns. Uncheck the box when someone is speaking. If you need to amplify the organ in someway then there are lots of options. We found using a dynamic mic gives the correct amount of control. Just adjust the dist...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts
Yes, all controlled through Mevo's own app. The camera is really ideal if you just want a single component, without the need for additional hardware. When you consider it has a 6 hour battery life, wi-fi as well as on board encoding for any streaming platform you choose, it's great value. If you wan...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts
That's essentially what many of us have been doing with the mevo start.
It has a fixed focal length but a 3x digital zoom with pan and tilt functionality within the app.

Re: Zoom now requiring emailed login codes
We just share the host key with the ward council so that they can use their own free zoom accounts but take control of any church zoom meetings as necessary.
