Audio video from the pulpit

A sidelight to the comment by Farwest Just wondering what others are using at the pulpit when you use a projector and laptop. In the example he gives it is for a youth meeting and that is fine. However, we should remember while we are thinking about this that projectors should not be used in sacrame...

Ordinance for a person who is "not accountable"

I guess a major detail I left out is that the child is mentally handicapped. I guess there was a decision that he was not accountable until he reached age 10? That was a decision the bishop and parents made. But along those lines, it was not considered a convert baptism and was not handled by the m...

Reconciled months no longer reconciled

My solution: print out a hard copy showing that the accounts were balanced with that particular CUFS, attach it to the corresponding CUFS, and never look back.
As a stake auditor, I can tell you that this is wise council indeed. It saves a lot of headaches later.

Broken BIC

buchleg asked: 1.) If a parent leaves the church or is excommunicated does it remove the "Born in the Covenant" for the children? 2.) If a female member is sealed in the Temple then gets a secular divorce. Remarries and has another child with the new husband who has not been to the Temple , woul...

Stake admin account

I'm in agreement with mkmurray. When you add a new MLS user, you can choose "Member of Unit" or "Out-of-Unit Administrator." If you choose the administrator, this problem with not being associated with a member will not come up. If the entry is an old one before MLS 2.9, then it will come up and you...

Training Matrix

In his discussion on using a training matrix to track the clerks and bishopric on who has watched the training lessons, Alan_Brown said, (It's on lds.org under Serving in the Church > Melchizedek Priesthood, or it is accessible on administrative computers through MLS.) This is true. However, the Eng...

When do checks affect the Budget Allowance?

It's too late for this year, but we will try to remember to get this information out to you for the next year's closing in time to be useful, perhaps in a Tip of the Week. Thanks for making us aware of the need.

Sitting with family after sacrament

In answer to vaugdavi's question I have been sitting on the clerks stand for the entire meeting since I was called. My father who has been a ward clerk told me that he returns to sit with his family after the sacrament is passed and he has taken the count of members attending sacrament meeting. He s...
