Re: amateur radio equipment banned?

We seriously looked at placing an antenna within a building attic but discovered that the florescent lighting fixtures were horrific emitters of RF noise, HF to VHF. The net moved to homes with a temporary VHF antenna available for external use at the building. 73.

Re: Short Throw Projector Suggestions

We have installed an Epson 700U short throw projector in the HC room. It has a 4000 lumen output and is creating a 100+ inch image. The distance from the lens to the screen is less than 24 inches. (really). It takes care to locate the projector but the picture is amazing.

Re: FHC Canon Microfilm Scanner 300 vs Win 7

The FHC has received a new Dell Optiplex 7450 All-in-One running Windows 10 x64. There were some challenges getting the I/F to the Canon 300ii to run. We used the same driver package from http://www.scsiproshop.com as before. See post of 05Feb2013. There are probably better ways to do but this is th...

Re: PTZ camera control using IP

We have been using the Sony EVI-D70 camera with a serial control before switching to two Optics 20x SDI cameras. They are controlled via an internal AV network that also controls the webcast box, AV WAP, audio and video mixer. The two camera setup allows for camera movement before switching the live...

Re: Need simple way to configure monitors on the stand

The remote is left with the monitor(s) but we do not expect them to use it. The volume is always turned off as the overhead sound system is driving the room. In the 'low' show mode, whatever the PC is putting out is on the screen and on the monitor. A black slide or no input will cause the monitor i...

Re: Need simple way to configure monitors on the stand

We have chosen to use HDMI for this situation. There are several configuration options. For a ‘low’ show, we use a HDMI 1 to 4 splitter with a small collection of HDMI cables of 35 or 50 feet. This allows the PC or input device to be positioned almost anywhere on the stand. Two monitors (cheap LCD f...

Re: Choir Microphone setup for Webcast

An update on an alternative configuration. To hit the choir 'sweet spot' locations we needed a very tall microphone since the ceiling was not of practical use. Here are photos of a carbon fiber floor standing microphone. It's kind of a poor mans Audix, but taller. It uses an 8 foot 0.301in. diameter...

Re: condenser microphone on the stage

In our buildings each microphone channel gain control is set up for a specific voltage/sound level. Microphone families, dynamic versus condenser, have different voltage outputs for a given sound level. For example, the dynamic type Shure SM58 puts out 1.85mv versus a condenser type Audio Technica A...

Re: Wireless Microphones

For the record, these are the instructions that the FM groups have received. Also a stake is authorized to have one wireless microphone. Steve Poulsen provided this link: http://aec.ldschurch.org/aec/standard_plans/MSPC/MSPCN-05-2013-10-11.pdf , extracting item #4. Item 4: Requests for Technical Equ...

Re: Wireless Microphones

I would add my recommendation regarding the Audio-Technica ATW2000 series. The units are AA battery driven (+). Have a good number of UHF channels. Excellent range and audio performance. Compatible XLR connection into the building system without a crab. Lowest price point for this capability. You ca...
