Re: Is the Church Satellite System capable of HD?
We used some SDI<->HDMI adapters to run SDI over existing coax to the pulpit. The sound is still the regular building sound configuration and it works great. We will try the mono audio mode for hdmi connection to our video switch where the hdmi audio would be used. Is the HDMI out port of the satell...

Firewall policy blocking VPNs
The firewall policy that blocks some VPNs unfortunately also blocks VPNs now used for web filtering on cellular phones. For example, both Verizon Smart Family and CircleGo by Disney use a VPN to monitor and limit data from a mobile device, whether on cellular or Wi-Fi. The result is that I have to r...

Re: Is the Church Satellite System capable of HD?
Never mind ... Somehow I didn't see the last post before writing this one. I'm not just dreaming that it was HD after all! :D Since HD was available we ran SDI instead of analog to the podium this time to get HD to the projector. In the past we have had to use an hdmi splitter after the sat receiver...

Re: Is the Church Satellite System capable of HD?
Sometime last year I spoke with one if the conference center tech guys. He made it sound like a budgetary issue. The tech guys want HD of course. The receivers in chapels all downconvert, so no immediate building upgrade would be required, but relatively few meetinghouses could take advantage of HD ...

Re: Organ Line-in
The organ line is line-level, so you would need a pre-amp or small mixer. It is unlikely that an input could be easily retrofitted to an organ not wired for it, and even less likely that FM will entertain the idea at all.

Re: What equipment do you use for webcasting?
We have not yet looked at HDBaseT. SDI to HDMI adapters can be found for about $30. Does your building have any network cabling? If so, you may be able to pull new cables for video through the existing conduit for the network cables.

Re: What equipment do you use for webcasting?
Regarding the church's webcast system, we used YouTube for the last conference, and it worked very well at 720p, and was easy for shut-ins and a few other remote people to connect to. They just needed the right link. Experience has caused me not to trust the church webcast system on Sunday, but YouT...

Re: What equipment do you use for webcasting?
The PTZ optics cameras can be IP controlled, and the changes show up on all video outputs. I have seen it IP controlled while using the SDI video output and work great.
