Re: Sacred Funds, Sacred Responsibilities video
Thanks for the help all. We were caught off guard with the new audit question pertaining to this video. Does anyone have citation to an official communication or other letter detailing the requirement? It's troubling that we have an audit question about a new policy that is not documented anywhere.

Re: "Other" Accounts
Provisions to fund the week long camp for YM & YW (and primary age day camp) have not changed in the General Handbook of Instructions. Units may still hold fundraisers if the ward budget and individual families cannot cover the expenses. Carryovers should be small amounts. I've dealt with wards ...

Re: Unused ward budget
Unlike your personal budget, there is no reason to bank excess budget funds. I have spent over a decade serving as either a ward or stake financial clerk. Re: Eagle Scout project funding
The issue here is The Church does not certify the tax status of this type of donation (as with any donation entered into an "Other" account). That's not really an issue if the donor is willing to write the check to The Church on behalf of the troop. The donor can still maintain documentati...

Youth and senior mission on IOS?
Conducting Tithing Settlement, and an older brother asked if both the mission he served as a youth and his senior mission should be on the IOS. His wife's reports the senior mission, but his only shows the youth mission. Should the IOS show both, or will it only show the first mission a member compl...

Re: How to Authorize Assistant Clerk to Make LDS Store Purchases
The OP doesn't say what type of clerk his assistant is, but following GAAP (i.e. standard US accounting principles), the clerk paying the bills usually cannot place orders. This separation of duties prevents a single individual from placing an order and being the same person who reviews and reconcil...
