FIR on Android issues

I recognize that the FIR Android app is only loading a mobile webpage and actually I'm ok with that but the user experience is really bad on at least on Android phones. My main grievance is that the text boxes are so small and its very difficult to edit what you have wrote. Once the text wraps its n...

Re: Min Bitrate & Max Bitrate

Keep in mind that for streaming, it's the sustained bitrate that's important. Not the advertised or claimed rate. It's entirely possible for a "higher" building to actually have a lower usable bitrate. If it is pushing out a lower bitrate wouldnt that mean that I'm not able to support the...

Min Bitrate & Max Bitrate

In my tests of the new webcast system (portal.ldswebcast.org) I've noticed that by default the system is setting the receiving feed at a very low bitrate (100KBps). This is even the case when doing a test receive webcast. If I manually set the min bitrate to 500 KBps however it jumps up the higher q...

Re: Wireless Mic in Chapel

so If I were to go about this the "legal" way I wont be able to plug directly into the audio system. What other options do I have? Could I place the receiver inside the podium and use a splitter with the podium mic? Or do the same thing under the sacrament table? Has anyone done something ...

Wireless Mic in Chapel

We have multiple wireless microphones in our stake center that are standalone units. I would like to have two of them permanently connected to the chapel audio system so that we can just grab a wireless mic when we need an extra microphone, turn it on and be up and running. This would be perfect for...

Re: New Standard Webcasting solution

The Teradek VidiU seems awfully expensive for what it does especially since it will only be used twice a year. Are there any better or cheaper options? How future proof is the VidiU?

Re: FIR System

They may be using FMAT on their end but all of the requests we put in are through email. They then send out a report once a week of all the units in the area of what has been completed. It sounds like what they have abandoned is the used of FIR to report issues which removes visibility for the membe...

FIR System

Our FM Group manager has decided to not use the FIR system and is using email instead. As a bishop and geek the benefits of using an issue tracker are obvious. I hate the use of email as I cannot see the status of work requests. There is also some comfort in being able to see that an item is officia...
