Actually, it looks like you can get to it by going to familysearch.org -> order/download products -> software downloads -> Personal Ancestral File 5.2.18.0 - Multi-Language (9.7MB) -> Download. That looks like roughly equivalent to where you found it? That forwards you to the familysearch.com page ...

I finally found the PAFAllLangs.exe version of PAF. There is not a link to it on the download page, but it can be obtained from http://ftp.ldscatalog.com/PAF5AllLangs.exe. It includes an option to install an international unicode font that works great.

I tried a few versions ago and it was crashing when I tried to enter data. I just tried again with Wine 0.9.32 on Ubuntu and it worked just fine. Of course there are graphics glitches which makes it feel alpha quality, but my 3 minute test went really well. I installed the Microsoft arial32.exe font...

Crossover for Mac somehow slipped my mind when I posted my comment. So yes, Wine does run on Mac as long as you are running it through Crossover which costs money. I don't know how well it works. As for Parallels, I use it as my primary operating system at work and it is indeed very impressive. Para...

I did not realize there were any developers out there that really wanted PAF to work correctly. My impression was that occasionally a developer would just happen to come across it and fix something or another if he felt like it. Just knowing that there is someone willing to work on it gives me the e...

Despite what winehq says about the status of PAF on Wine, my experience is that it is not really functional. I would submit more bugs (such as the fact that it crashes when I try to enter data) if the font bug were to be fixed. For me, all the other bugs pale in comparison to the font bug. So it's n...

OpenOffice Spreadsheet of Test Results
Here is a very preliminary spreadsheet with some test results. I got a reply in another thread about there being a wiki at ldsoss.org. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but I'll likely start using that instead of this thread. Well, the upload page says that I have: " Sum of all attachme...

Suggestion: LDS Tech Wiki
Wiki's are very useful for collaborative learning, cooperation and documentation. I would personally like a wiki page so that as I test PAF running in Wine I could get more participation from others. Let me know what you think of the idea.

Organized Testing of PAF in Wine
I would like to get PAF running well in Wine so that it can be run on other operating systems besides just Windows. Organizing testing efforts would probably work better with a wiki, but as long as the community is here in the forum, I'm sure it will work fine. Site creator, please add a wiki to bet...
