Re: General conference video on media/USB players with subtitles/closed captions
1. Would it be better to offer a separate subtitle file, or embed the caption file in the video download? -example of embedded captions in video download http://media2.ldscdn.org/assets/scripture-and-lesson-support/the-life-of-jesus-christ-bible-videos-2014/2014-01-025-feed-my-sheep-360p-eng.mp4?do...

Re: Women's General Session link to YouTube
From what I've seen, the live traffic is split -- sometimes you'll get YouTube and other times you'll get the Brightcove player. I'm not sure why they would do this without unblocking YouTube in the meetinghouses (at least for the weekend), but it appears that's what they're doing. Perhaps try a new...

Re: April 2015 Conference in MB4 Format
I heard from an inside source at CHQ that they decided to discontinue this format. I would definitely make sure you voice your opinion via the feedback link on the main LDS.org page if you want this format back. It was definitely my preferred format to listen to so I hope they bring it back!

Re: Vocal dubbing during conference
I love the close captions but is there a way to listen to the original audio - like if I was sitting in the congregation at the Conference Center? You can switch your language on LDS.org to the language that is being spoken. So for instance, if the speaker is speaking Spanish, you can change your L...

Re: General Conference sessions prior to 1971
Yes, but I was wondering if the pre-1971 archive was in such bad shape that it didn't make sense to do a mass-release. Also the VTRs that would play that format have long since been retired. It may be too expensive to convert en mass except as needed for special reasons. They've all been digitized ...

Re: General Conference sessions prior to 1971
1971 is when Correlation started reviewing content (coincides with release of the modern Church Magazines.) Anything before 1971 is not Correlated which would need to be done before official release. Pretty good reason. I was wondering if it was availability or condition of the media. Video recordi...

Try explaining that to the Church Correlation Department.

Re: What are the 26 languages of General Conference?
Will closed captions also be available on any of the live streams or with downloadable mp4 files? We have a few people in our stake that are hearing impaired. On the live streams English captioning will be available. For on-demand files (both streaming and download) captions are added about 7-10 da...
