Re: Retaining sacrament meeting webcasts using MWC

The official communication on the VOD has stated it is available for "at least 24 hours". That retention period has been set to 7 days but will be dialed back closer to 24 hours. We had it set longer initially for two reasons: 1) it gave support more time to access it if needed for trouble...

Re: Meetinghouse Webcast APP - Android TV?

There are many devices that look like they are "Android TV" but they aren't. The devices are simply built on the android platform and access the Google Playstore as a mobile device. These devices do not have access to the webcast app. The official Android TV device list is attached.

Re: Settings for OBS

The standard encode receive rate for the webcast system is 2Mbps. If you want to go up to 5Mbps you can but will need to select the "High Bandwidth Encode" option when scheduling. It is important to note that right now our highest transcode rate for remote connections is 2Mbps, so going ab...

Local Leader Webcast Portal Access

Many stake technology specialists (STS) have asked how to provide ward and branch leaders access to the Church’s webcast event manager portal (https://webcast.churchofjesuschrist.org) so they can schedule and manage their own events each week. The current recommendation is for stakes to call assista...

Re: Webcast with Vidiu to include Zoom feed???

You can now test Zoom integration with the Church's webcast services. To do this you will need a paid Zoom account, so you can use the RTMP option Zoom offers, and will need to enable the high bandwidth encode toggle for your event. I will talk to the individual over Zoom for the Church to see if th...

Re: Settings for OBS

Here's a quick setup draft we created for OBS. I hope it helps. This just provides the basic setup for OBS and does not get into some of the more advanced features.

Re: Ideas for a stake-wide webcast

2. Will the ability for speakers to access the Church webcast system directly from their devices at home ever be integrated into the Church webcast system as a feature? Not that I've heard of, but then we rarely hear about things in the works. We are evaluating this, but for the time being if you h...

Re: Running multiple Sacrament Meetings from multiple buildings

A few additional things to consider: - There are free software and app options available. One that I've used is OBS. This can be downloaded onto your computer and connects via RTMP to the Church's webcast services. There are also apps that can be downloaded on mobile devices. I am not as familiar wi...

Re: Webcast with Vidiu to include Zoom feed???

If all goes as planned, either next Monday or the following a new option will available in the scheduling tool labeled "high encode bitrate". This feature will be available to all but will show as a beta or test feature. Enabling this is meant to allow the ability for event managers to str...

Re: MiBox app download

Just an update.... We did officially release the webcast app and added the Mi Box back on the recommended list. We simply noted that it needed a USB to Ethernet adapter. We did find a list of Google approved AndroidTV devices (see attached). There are a lot of device out there that appear to be Andr...
