Downloaded the updated iPhone app (like the new icon) and it won't load. Screen goes black and all I can see is the carrier info, time, battery, etc. at the top of the screen.

So, yeah. It doesn't work at all. Even tried restarting my phone. Nada.

I'd love to see Ensign/Liahona/Friend/New Era apps for the iPad. In addition to being able to download it and have it with me wherever I go (hugely convenient), the multimedia aspects could be very impactful. While all the content may be available somewhere online via smartphone, I think Adavis has a point that having it in once place, easily accessible, on hand and easy to switch from one thing to another would be a great tool. I used Google Calendars through iCal. Whenever I made a change it automatically pushed down to the bishop's laptop. Worked like a charm. The email and SMS reminders were nice features as well.
