FamilySearch Indexing API?
So I have a crazy idea for a new app that would allow people to track the number of records they've indexed and make it into a bit of a competition. Now, I can do this the old school way and have people track their records by inputting the numbers manually, but what I would really prefer to do is ta...

Re: Windows Phone Content Updates?
I'll add a comment to this thread as well. Why is there such a lack of transparency from who ever is developing these apps? I'm on the team for the Android Gospel Library, and there are great updates/communication from the developers, as well as frequent test builds published. Why is there no offici...

Re: Gospel Library for Windows 8
I think the frustration many of us are feeling is that we can't help improve what is a good start, but in need of attention. The app isn't getting updated, the source control for it is not available and those of us who want to help can't do so because of the restrictions on the APIs. I now have a Su...

Re: Any efforts for Windows 8 applications?
Of course, if you can figure out how to get a bunch of Win RT tablets in the hands of some GAs, that would certainly help your cause. ;) I like your thinking. I know at least two members of the church who work for Microsoft. Might have to drop a little bug in their ear. Thank you for the suggestion...

Re: Any efforts for Windows 8 applications?
Well, I think that all of those who have posted in this thread would be very appreciative if we knew what a particularly good pathway was. If you could help that in area, I would be very grateful. PS: Good call on 8 vs RT, but unless you're doing something that specifically requires Intel based code...

Re: Any efforts for Windows 8 applications?
It would appear that there may be some misunderstanding about Windows 8 and it's reach. Windows 8 is for all PC's, not just tablets. Now, there are certainly parts of it that are better in a touch environment, but I use Windows 8 on my work laptop, our home desktop, a media server and my Samsung ATI...

Re: Any efforts for Windows 8 applications?
And this great piece of investigative reporting about Microsoft comes from? (It's a website called appleinsider.com. Yep, that's just where I want to get my news about Microsoft. :) ) Sorry, about being a little terse, but iOS and Windows 8 are playing on completely different playgrounds. Yes, table...

Re: Any efforts for Windows 8 applications?
I have been watching this thread since November when I got my Samsung ATIV Smart PC(full Win8 tablet) and have seen nothing but disappointment. While the 3rd party apps like Margins are a nice alternative, there is nothing like the fully supported official apps like Gospel Library and LDS Tools. I h...

I use the Gospel Library and LDS Tools on my Windows Phone. I was once a participant in those projects but now I don't see there here. If the community could get that source code we could probably produce a Windows 8 version in a matter of days. Does anyone have the SVN URL to either of those proje...

While most smartphones should be able to access the site, it is Flash based, meaning it won't work correctly on iOS or Windows Phone platforms. Further, most young men (I have a 12 year old) aren't big browser users. They rely on apps. Is there any API or resource developers could use to build such ...
