Re: Building a cable from sound system to "mic in"
This project met a quick end. I went to the meetinghouse last evening and discovered we don’t have a record out plug. So I need to find a lapel mic to hang on the pulpit.

Re: Building a cable from sound system to "mic in"
My understanding is that I'm going from a line level TS connector to a mic level TRS connector. Does that sound correct? That depends on the laptop. Is the icon by the plug of a microphone, or a headset(headphone with boom mic)? TRS is correct for "mic", TRRS is needed for "headset&q...

Re: Building a cable from sound system to "mic in"
Rather than tack onto an already lengthy thread, I thought I'd start a new one. This past week I built my own cable and was able to successfully use it this past Sunday for a webcast using a cell phone. There might be a pre-made cable out there that can do that, but it's not easy to find and I'd ha...

Re: Photographs of Primary Children
Thank you for the replies and suggestions. It's pretty easy to innocently start down a path only to discover (often too late) that it leads to a cliff. The idea of a family picture has merit. We just went through a boundary realignment so there are many new families with parents that we are still ge...

Photographs of Primary Children
A new bishop and a new primary president both had the same idea for learning the names of all of the children. Take photographs and label them with the names. These photo albums will only be used by the bishop (probably bishopric) and the Primary presidency. There is no intent to put them anywhere o...

Re: mistaken identity
Note that the Special Record Requests doesn't work if you've already sent the record away. I have often sent an email to Membership stating that I sent a record to "Unknown" and then documenting the information that we have been able to discover. Like one where the parents of the individua...

Reading in new members after realignment
This is probably covered somewhere but I'm not finding it. Our ward boundaries were realigned last Sunday and we have received the records of 86 new move-ins and retained about 380 members. For those of you who have done this before, do the new move-ins need to be read in and voted upon in Sacrament...

Re: Online donations for aging parents questions
Most likely the cell phone number is a requirement for two-step verification of the LDS Account, for login security. That makes more sense to me. Because I don't use the online donation system, all of this was a mystery to me. I doubt of LDS Account was designed for being managed by a trustee. The ...

Online donations for aging parents questions
I am researching an issue for a couple in our ward who are handling the finances for her mother. I don't use the online system so a lot of this relates to things I have no experience with. I apologize in advance if this should be obvious or if my understanding is off. Here's the background as I know...

Re: Surplus Ward Missionary Fund
I realize this is an old discussion but thought I could add some information. We also receive donations to the Ward Mission Fund that are not designated for a particular missionary. The fund builds up over time to a fair amount of money. About three years ago, we got a notice from our Area Authority...
