Re: High Council Access to LCR

I'll go to the feedback tab as you suggest. But, let me suggest a problem here that is facing our high council. Our stake president has directed the high councilor assigned to each ward to take an active role in helping and training the priesthood leaders. In our stake home teaching really needs the...

Re: List of temple workers in Leader & Clerk Resources

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried to log on to twp.ldschurch.org and don't have the proper authorization to log on. That is not an option on my screen in LCR. But, I think it should be. I'll see if our stake president can get into it, or possibly one of our bishops so that we can look at what is av...

List of temple workers in Leader & Clerk Resources

It would often be very helpful for the bishopric or stake presidency to see a list of ordained temple workers in their word or stake. Periodically we request such a list from our local temple. We hate to bother them with this request. Is there any thought of adding another category to the members li...

Home Teaching Data not getting to Stake MLS

As stake executive secretary, I collect MLS home teaching and visiting teaching monthly reports in MLS and create reports for the stake presidency each month. Several times now a ward elders quorum president has entered home teaching data into the ward MLS, saved it and sent it using a "send/re...

Re: JAVA error causing MLS to not run

Good idea. We will do that. I know that if you don't exit properly from MLS that you can cause problems. Also important to shut down Windows.

This computer is five years old and is probably overdue for replacement.

Re: JAVA error causing MLS to not run

The error message suggested running Chkdsk. I ran it (Chkdsk /f) and when rebooting the computer, Chkdsk ran for quite a long time and fixed a bunch of problems on the disk. It was scrolling fast and hard to see exactly what it was doing. When it was finished I rebooted the computer and it took a li...

Re: JAVA error causing MLS to not run

Thanks for the link. Our stake technology specialist (asst. clerk) is not available. Need to try to get this up by Sunday. I'll contact GSC. Maybe they can guide me over the phone. I have some technical experience.

JAVA error causing MLS to not run

I just read the thread on 32-bit vs 64-bit JAVA and learned that the JAVA that MLS uses is imbedded in MLS. We are running Windows XP on an older computer. We have the latest version of MLS installed and it has been working fine for several months. We have had problems with SEPHOS not working. But w...

Member Lookup not returning the detailed listing

I'm a stake executive secretary and use Leader & Clerk Resources often, especially to find someone in the stake when I don't know which ward they are in. I find them using the "Member Lookup" function. I also like the additional information that is found with this function, i.e. Curren...

Re: Receiving membership records not in our units

Thanks for the clarification. We will instruct our ward clerks to only send the new address when moving a membership out of the ward and not try to find the new ward. I can see how this can really cause problems (like it did for one of our wards with wrong incoming membership records). Good point on...
