Back to what started this in the first place, an advantage of keeping an accrual account in AMFA: Other is that it does pay interest! Which is what led down this rabbit hole to begin. On further thought, after suggesting that the 'Other' column was an artifact of the old system, it does offer a way ...

As to the example of a stake taking funds for multi-stake activities: I fail to see why you would be collecting funds from another stake for an event 4 years out. Stakes retain unused funds for future budget expenses, so an individual stake keeping a reserve (in their own funds) for a future expect...

On reflection, I think the prohibition on 'parking' monies in Other accounts is an artifact of the years past practice of various wards trying to 'hide' monies that could not be carried over. With each ward now able to carry-over monies in a following years budget, I suspect the 'Other' account will...

Here's an example of an interest payment gone awry: We have a prison branch in our stake. Obviously, they do not carry missionary funds in any account. We did, however, receive a $.01 interest payment to the non-existent missionary fund. It has shown up as an exception in every audit since. SLC said...

Carrying "Other" balances from year to year

Our Stake youth trek occurs every 4 years. We accrue monies from our annual budgeting process to spread the Stakes share of the cost evenly over the 4-year time frame. It turns into a pretty sizeable amount of money, given the BLM charges to the church for access to public lands (double meaning very...

Just do a transfer into your Other account each month. Surely you have an account where you accrue monies on a Stake level, Trek, YSA activities, Youth conferences, etc.? It really isn't this difficult. Keep a note or glance at your YTD transfer amounts so the transfers aren't tilted at any specific...

This is why you keep some change in your drawer. Sometimes kids are off a few cents and it isn't worth a phone call or your time.

These, however, are not records of anything I have done. SLC should have these, they mean nothing to us.

internal record of purchase/service

The prior thread seemed concerned with DC orders which are problematic. My question is on the voluminous records from Qwest for all the already reimbursed phone services for the Stake. I really do not need all this information. Can I deep-six the stuff?
