Re: Wireless Internet Providers

Remember, Wifi is not required in the building. The primary function of the building internet is to facilitate the clerks. Well, MLS used to work fine via a modem, and I assume that's still an option. The web is required for other clerk tasks but not all of those need to be done on Sundays. But the...

Re: Meetinghouse DNS Setting Changes

Hmmm, I still haven't received an email. At any rate, I noticed the following error in TM when I click on the Filter Type link: Firewall's DNS are not valid. Filter may not be working correctly. I assume that doesn't actually affect anything, and they just need to update something, but thought I'd m...

Filtering Options

I implemented the strict filtering policy to try to achieve usable bandwidth for church purposes but immediately received complaints from bishoprics regarding lack of access to email and cloud storage. Also, the firewall didn't return a page with any sort of message, they just received an access err...

Re: Wireless Internet Providers

Here in Saint George the majority of our church buildings are connected through a WISP. (It's a little hard to dig through the lava rock just to get an internet connection.) Some of the downtown buildings have had fiber run to them in recent years but the majority are still wireless. The wireless s...

Re: Wireless Internet Providers

Yes. We have one building via Verizon 4G. It was set up and installed by FM. Imagine sharing your cellphone connection with 100 of your closest friends. It also seems to have a tendency to die, forcing me to reset the modem. I solved that problem by installing a timer to power off/on the modem ever...

Re: Smart TVs?

Attempting to stream video via the meetinghouse internet is not advised - at least not under normal conditions. Yes, I know, but it’s hard to get the word out to everyone, and sometimes you have unplanned situations. But I’m also thinking of things like baptisms where bandwidth isn’t an issue I kno...

Wireless Internet Providers

Anyone out there use a wireless internet provider for their building? Wondering what options are available (specifically in Utah). Neither my FM nor HQ could give me an answer.

Smart TVs?

We are going to get a couple new large TVs. Is there any reason to get a smart TV? Can you stream church videos directly through any of them?

The addition of the building calendars will be very much appreciated.

Re: Stake Account/Password Resets

This happened when I logged in with the local unit account after I reset the password. That is the account I used to set up the computer 5 months ago, and everything as been working fine. This was all a bit strange but I think we're back to normal now so I won't worry about it.
