. . . We understand that the Bishop needs to communicate with both and that the process specifically says that the member should not be asked to contact the former spouse. How do we find the prior spouse? Wouldn't the easiest starting point be to ask the person seeking to be sealed? He/she may be a...

I'm not a bishopric member, but I have experience with my own children having limited use temple recommends valid for one year. It's my understanding that the limited use recommend for youth are only valid for baptisms/confirmations (obviously) and only if participating with a group or with a paren...

I noticed mine on nFS. That program gives me *no power* to correct this error (stepfather identified as father), but refers me to my ward clerk. He has been unable to resolve this to date. This seems to be a database problem since nFS includes relationship options that don't seem to be available in ...

. . . If the missionary department finally has scrapped the testing, they're only about twenty years behind the times, and are finally catching up with current medicine. . . . In my area, our school districts require TB screenings for all incoming students & all volunteers. (Probably school employe...

SAs & YSAs have used "alternate" communication methods for a long time because the approved official ones don't function. Pretty simple.

As the parent of a current missionary, it is awesome when someone else posts pics of your missionary on facebook & "tags" him/her! It's like a giant online scrapbook & we get to help label each other's pictures.

Another twist: This system will continue to generate a growing backlog of "reserved" work by those who lack family members of the opposite gender to complete ordinances.

I've never seen the stake or ward committees operate like that. However, I did request current info for the calling. Mine was quite old and I cannot locate it. I live in a stake with many singles: 2 YSA wards, 1 combo midsingles/family ward, and plenty over 43 years old, too. This stake does actuall...

Ahhhh . . . I see. I'll look into that. Either way, SA reps & advisers are ward callings.

Just a note on terminology, YSA is 18 though 30. SA is 31 and above. Single Member is YSA & SA. So the quoted statement doesn't strike me as fully correct. Reference Back when we had Young Adult, Young Special Interest, and Special Interest, "Single Adult" was the correct term for all of the groups...
