The only time that I can see that it would be bad to show the title of the event would be if there is a disciplinary action taking place. Otherwise, i agree that there is little reason to hide the title. One issue with not listing the disciplinary councils is they take place at odd hours when folks ...

That's great to hear. I had assumed as much, but wasn't sure. Do you know when the official changeover will happen? I know at one point the Church said 2012, the LDS Tools app says mid 2011, but with the refresh of the calendar that's been mentioned in this forum happening in February 2011 I can see...

I haven't been able to find the solution either. My other issue is that not all of the auxiliaries are represented in the groups listed, at least not from a stake perspective. I can't get things to the ward YM/YW or ward mission leaders, without going to the old system that is.

To be honest, we just went with the default that the calendar wizard set up for us (although we're not using it to actually transfer the events). The other reason that I'm reluctant to make these calendars public is that I have been toying with the idea of building our agenda items in the event desc...

Resource scheduling for private calendars

I guess I should also mention that I find it interesting that you can't reserve resources from a private calendar (at least not from our Stake PEC calendar). We don't often have other events that would conflict with our meeting in the high council room, but I hate to make assumptions.

General Church Events on the new LDS.org calendar

Our stake has decided to go ahead and take the plunge and switch to the new calendars. (Ultimately we decided to switch to reduce confusion after the transition to the site format.) One thing that I noticed while migrating everything is that we used to have the General Church events show up on the c...

I agree, I was discussing this same issue with one of our building coordinators last night. How are they to understand what's going on in the building they are over when all they can see are the stake and their ward's calendars. We have 4 wards meeting in our stake center, which would take a lot of ...

You said currently, have you heard plans that that feature will be available? It would be great if it was. We use it frequently in our stake to notify folks of important events and last minute changes that we would otherwise not be able to pass along. Of course hearing it in person is preferred, but...

I would add two reasons that I'm waiting to switch to the new calendaring system. 1. The calendar wizard is still moving events over without taking in to account changes to time zones, and is awkward to work with as all the events listed on your current calendar show up on the list to transfer. 2. I...

Calendar Setup Wizard

Today I stumbled upon the Calendar Setup Wizard on new.lds.org, the tool designed to port the current calendar events to the new calendar. There are two things that I would mention and I hope they will be addressed before everyone else takes on the process. 1. It would be great if you could limit th...
