The Church Membership Information System database is upgrading today, 19 April 2012 beginning at noon. The upgrade will affect some Clerk and Leader Resources functionality on LDS.org. Specifically, users will NOT be able to: • Change personal contact information (e.g., e-mail, phone numbers,...

While definitely more work, I could imagine a system that compares the previous address to the new address and calculates a level of change. For example, 5 characters have changed in the street address. Based on this amount of change it could determine whether standardization or an in-ward move has ...

I'd love to see what these new forms look like. The descriptions so far are fairly detailed,
but as they say "a picture is worth a thousand words". Any chance someone who has
these new forms could upload a scanned image for use to look at ?

Off course you're right, but the handbook omits wording like "taxes and service fees" which would easily clear everything up for most of us. When we have financial training I always hear about how we need to treat the funds as sacred, so I have bit of difficulty when expenses are incurred that can b...

Our policy has always been to reimburse the amount paid that the member asks for. Some members have expressed a desire to pay the sales tax portion of amount to simplify their own record-keeping especially when they don't have a seperate receipt for church purchases (i.e. they buy refreshments for a...

While you can't make an EFT, perhaps you can prepay the landlord for a year and ask for monthly receipts
as the "Credit" is applied over time. It may save some paperwork, but not quite sure how the church looks
on such a disbursement.

Quite frankly, the new lds.org ward and stake system should never have been made available until it included all of the functionality of the classic LUWS. Doing so was just plain poor management. I agree. Rolling out the Directory and Calendar early has caused our users to completeldy ignore the ol...

Many wards do a sub-for-santa fundraiser at Christmas time to help make Christmas possible for disadvantaged families using this same mechanism. The bishop can authorize the use of the Other account. So long as the funds are collected in a manner that is approved (not solicited), I would think this...

Another thing to do is to print donation statements (for 2010) for the boys who paid in 2010. The reason would be that when the 2010 transition to CUBS occurred, all specific other accounts like Other: Joe Blow Philmont had their transactions recategorized to a generic Other account, which is how CH...

Look for a negative balance in any of the other categories. If you have one (especially if it is large), the transition to CUBS might never have been properly made. If you can find a copy of the Other reconciliation report for an audit performed prior to Oct 2010, you can use that as a baseline for ...
