Re: Improving Sacrament Meeting Teleconferences

Most Polycom conference phones have an audio out connection for connecting external speakers. Simply run the appropriate cable out of the receiving phone to an amplifier and quality speakers (or self-powered speakers) placed several feet away from the phone and directed towards the back of the room ...

Re: SLC shut our Webcasting session down for Regional Conference

rannthal, Thank you for your participation and feedback. It's really nice to be able to have a response from someone actually involved in the project. It's like our voices are finally being heard. I answered the questionnaire but like so many other questionnaires, I felt that nothing would come of i...

Re: SLC shut our Webcasting session down for Regional Conference

So no one at SLC knew there was a problem until the phones started to ring. Are you sure? This was a Regional Conference to 7 states in the North America South West area, with over 225 stakes expected to receive the broadcast. IMO, it should have been easy to predict there would be an overload and ...

Re: audio recording in sacrament meeting?

Out ward has a lot of "shut-ins". With Stake Presidency approval, we have installed a separate "line-out" feed to a computer that digitally records the sacrament meeting. We do the same thing (Priests take a CD, Program of Services and provide the sacrament) for our home bound m...

Re: SLC shut our Webcasting session down for Regional Conference

Note: SlingMedia (SlingBox) now forces video ads when first connecting to streams and then displays banner ads for a few seconds when not in full-screen. Due to those ads, and the company not currently offering a way to hide advertisements has left some of us anxious for the church's new Webcast sol...

SLC shut our Webcasting session down for Regional Conference

Is anyone else having problems attempting to broadcast the South Western Regional Broadcast today? The message read: "Due to the high amount of traffic on the media servers, all test and REGIONAL broadcast events that originate for SLC will be terminated in order for locally generated stake con...

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

WOW, where do you come up with the money for 5 of these cameras? You are talking over $18,000 in cameras. Terry For years I have tried to explain that it is possible to purchase equipment for a fraction of new, if you know what to look for and are patient. For an example, I recently helped a stake ...

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

Do u know the realistic longest length the rs232 cable can be? I was planning on using cat5 or cat6 wire for the rs232. It depends on the bauld rate and cable qualtity/type. The second post in this topic shows a chart listing the maximum length as 500 feet if you use 9600 buad (which is typical) ov...

Re: Errir Windows error 2 occurred while loading the java VM

Yes, I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java but that did not work. I also attempted to uninstall MLS but could not because I got the same error, so I could not uninstall and reinstall MLS. Solution: I the contacted GSC and they instructed me to download and install MLS over the existing ...
