LDSAccess is limited

I am trying to solve WiFi Internet connectivity through LDSAccess on my laptop. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am using a Lenovo G580 laptop running Windows 8.1 and can successfully connect to any SSID except LDSAccess. I can successfully connect to dozens of other WiFi SSID's at various lo...

Re: Sony RS-422 control; finally working

ensure that they are set to "RS422" with dip switch 4 on the bottom... The RS-232C/RS-422 switch is switch 3 The brown wire can be attached to any grounding point if necessary. In my experience, the RS-422 connection must be grounded in order to keep the video clean. Any time the ground w...

Re: Sony Handycam HDR CX240

The Sony CX240 is an excellent camera and is just fine for broadcasting stake conferences. Just mount it on a tripod and connect to the Webcasting equipment. If you set it in one position and leave it, the camera angle will probably get boring after an hour or so. For best results have a camera oper...

Re: IR Over Cat5e to Sony EVI-D80 Confusion

The main difference between I/R and wired is the amount of control. The wired VISCA protocol allows for more precise control of pan/tilt/zoom and access to other camera functions not available on the handheld wireless infrared remote. The Sony wireless remote controls only zoom (2 fixed speeds), pan...

Re: IR Over Cat5e to Sony EVI-D80 Confusion

You don't need to solder the wires, just make a tight, secure connection and insulate it with the black electrical tape or use some wire nuts. I prefer to just crimp my connections but you probably don't have those tools. If you want to solder, use can use a cheap pencil type solder iron. Strip and ...

Re: IR Over Cat5e to Sony EVI-D80 Confusion

The link you provided is for an Infrared Repeater which takes the signal from a I/R remote and sends it through the CAT5 cable to the emitter. The emitter is usually stuck the the back of the camera where the I/R receiver port is. You would point the remote control at the pick up sensor and the sign...

Re: Auto-silence Android App

This morning, someone's phone rang during the Sacrament prayer and I thought to myself "wouldn't it be cool if LDS Tools or Gospel Library had a feature to silence my phone according to our published meeting times?" When I got home I searched and found this post, downloaded and installed t...

Next-Gen Meetinghouse Webcasting Project

This entry was from Alternate Camera Recommendations for the Sony EVI-D70 so I created a new post for the Next-Gen Meetinghouse Webcasting Project... #5Postby pete.arnett » 20 Jan 2015 20:28 It has been rumored that the older version of Webcast is being replaced by a newer version during 2015, see b...

Re: Alternate Camera Recommendations for the Sony EVI-D70

The camera the church is currently recommending is Sony's EVI-D80 for $815.00 USD (store.lds.org, sign in, search for WEBCAST, look at the bottom of the page). This camera is a current model and replaces the discontinued EVI-D70. I'm constantly looking for comparable PTZ cameras but so far I've disc...
