Clint, thanks for chiming in. That is good to know that development is moving forward. After watching the Windows Phone Summit today, Windows Phone is here to stay! It would be nice though to have www.lds.org/mobile updated to show that the mormon channel app is available on Windows Phone. On a side...

I noticed this morning that all of the Windows Phone projects (Gospel Library, LDS Tools, etc.) have been marked inactive. The project pages indicate that each project has been made private until the Church determines what next steps will be taken for this application. Is this platform being abando...

I believe the 501 was only licensed for 10 connections to the outside, but it would lease more IPs then that. Still, even with the new firewall, the way they've been set up, there's only space for about 60 devices at any one time. Serious? Can you confirm that? Remind me to disable wireless when we...

Yep, just north of you in the Bloomfield Hills stake. We're wiring the stake center which is an absolute beast of a building. This is what we've encountered so far: 1. Even though the building is in Bloomfield Hills on Woodward Avenue it is in a broadband backwater. DSL was available almost as an a...

Today's Meetinghouse Technologies newsletter features using powerline networking (such as HomePlug) solutions to connect computers in meetinghouses. Note that HomePlug can cause interference with amateur radio stations in certain circumstances - it isn't a deal breaker by any means but it is someth...

I have to respectfully disagree. These are stripped down versions of Word and Excel that lack important features, such as password protecting documents. They also contain advertizing and are only available bundled with a new PC. This makes it impossible to implement as "standard" software...

The free version of Crashplan is for personal data only and would not be appropriate for Church use. Remember as well that any software installed on the PC must be approved by the Stake President. As far as Crashplan, that is not correct. It is free to use for Church use. I contacted Crashplan and ...
