The new Accessibility to Church Technology Products forum

Hi all. Many individuals have expressed some frustration on the inaccessibility of some of the Church's technologies. This forum will hopefully become a place where such issues can be discussed, feedback can be given, and ideas and solutions generated. Part of the problem is that we haven't identifi...

I need to see if this plugin requires outbound Internet access. Since the concept behind recaptcha is to grab bits of undigitized books, I assume it has to connect to a server to do that. Currently our infrastructure does not allow the server to make outbound calls. However I can test it on my test...

The computer is not a luxury.....it's assistive technology which enables the disabled to not be left entirely behind. No one is asking that lds.org be entirely redone. But it is very reasonable to ask that any new improvements be made accessible to everyone. I would be very interested in discussing...

I am working with the Church on specifically this issue: making Church resources more accessible. We have made a lot of improvements over the past few months, but we've also got a long way to go. I will soon be starting a forum or mailing list of some sort for the discussion of such issues. I'll pos...

I realize that there are widely varieing views on this issue, and I don't think most of the analogies help to clear up matters. Unfortunately, the issues are somewhat abstract, so most people are still figuring out how to think about them, but I think its a mistake to make snap judgements either way...
