My opinion is a bit different. I believe if CHQ decided to distribute updated material via torrent, then it wont be long before individual units that have broadband access will want to have BT (or some other torrent client) installed on their unit's PC. This (IMO) is now playing with fire. Besides ...

I think this argument could be made about just about any technology. Internet chat (in all its various forms) is notorious for horrible uses, yet we use it on mormon.org to connect the missionaries to investigators. Sattellite television is used to deliver all sorts of negative items, yet we use it ...

New article in Wikipedia for FamilySearch Indexing

Hi all. I have added a Wikipedia entry for FamilySearch Indexing at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FamilySearch_Indexing if anyone wants to help. It could use some work, so feel free to pitch in. It is also currently an orphan, so I could use some help with getting it linked from other articles. Thank...

New Site on Jesus Christ

Hi all. I just wanted to share a site which we recently put online: http://JesusChrist.lds.org/ As many of you undoubtedly know, the March issue of the Ensign and Liahona magazines are deticated to the topic of Christ, and this web site is meant to go along with those. We are very much interested in...

I had a similar idea a few months ago. It would be nice if there could be a way for users to generate links in and out of the scriptures to various other articles and talks on the Church sites. Each link could then be rated as either good or bad (or maybe somewhere in between) and the most popular l...

Sorry, I didn't notice that. Here's a corrected version. javascript:var x=document.getElementsByTagName('sup');for(var i=x.length-1;i>=0;i--){void(x .parentNode.removeChild(x ));} Also, I agree with you that the option to remove footnotes should be more apparent. The footnotes pose an accessibility ...

Try this. javascript:var x=document.getElementsByTagName('sup');for(var i=0;i<x.length;i++){void(x[0].parentNode.removeChild(x[0]));} If you are familiar with bookmarklets, you'll know what to do with that. If not, what you need to do is copy that line of code (and only that line) to your clipboard....

Interesting idea. I don't know whether that would work or not; it would depend on the country. I think you're right about the shortwave receivers. In fact, I just ordered a Kenwood TH-F6A, and it even receives the shortwave freqs, though not very well unless you use an external antenna. By the way, ...

The Church and Shortwave or satellite broadcasting

In the 1930's, the Church applied for a license from the FCC to establish a shortwave station. That application appears to have been rejected. However, I wonder if the idea wouldn't warrent further exploration. I realize that shortwave, at least in the States, and many other countries, is an ancient...
