There is a nice stand-alone (bootable) method called "Darik's Boot and Nuke" found here: http://dban.sourceforge.net/ You can boot into this utility, and it will securely erase the drive. I too have used this program, and its great. Simple, and seems to be effective, although I would incr...

Another thing which might be considered is to completely disable everything in the browser except cookies and javascript. No flash, no java, nothing. Of course, this might negatively impact some sites, so things should be evaluated frequently, and security should be loosened based on what is needed....

I am interested in any feedback or ideas folks might have. This article came about because I wrote a proof of concept application to generate audi...

Getting back to the original topic, I can think of one situation where EFT won't work, and that is where the person has a variable income, because for example, they are self employed. In that case, an ATM machine would be nice!

I'd say its somewhere in the middle. I had this idea, and I threw together this proof of concept to show my bosses what was possible. Whether they will think it worth further development has yet to be seen.

I gave it a try. It seems to struggle a bit with voice recognition. I had to try twice for the "yes" or "no". Maybe it's my cell phone. I had to cup my hand over my mouth and speak up. Interesting. Perhaps touch-tone input could be accepted in addition to voice input. The zip co...

Interactive Voice Response System

Hi all. At the Church, we're always trying to think of new ways to better serve the members through technology. To that end, a few weeks ago, I began pondering the question, "How can we bring some of our web apps to people who don't or can't use the interweb?" The result of that line of th...
