Re: LDS Tools app and Pictures on LDS.org

There is something strange going on for me as well but different. When I checked the online directory it said there were 43 photos waiting to be approved, yet the LDS tools app appeared to be showing the photos even though they hadn't been approved. Of the ones I checked only one was missing from LD...

Re: General conference video on media/USB players with subtitles/closed captions

From my experience, the media library every now and then gets videos haphazardly added to it, as you've seen for this most recent general conference. Although it might seem like a lost cause I've actually had great success with submitting feedback via the "Feedback" link at the bottom of p...

Re: Conference in ASL on LDS.org at chapels

In my stake we support English, Spanish, French, and ASL. Our satellite rack has two receivers so we get the regular video feed, the ASL feed, and three spoken languages. At a minimum we use a projector and 4 TVs throughout the building. Needless to say, I say my prayers every 6 months for a fully f...

Re: Mormon Channel for Amazon Fire TV

It's not quite the same as the Mormon Channel, but I made and recently released a Fire TV app that collates videos available from the Church and makes them available for viewing. I update it weekly so you can quickly see which videos the Church added to the videos.lds.org website. It even has a snap...

Re: Mormon Channel on Samsung/LG Smart TV's?

I don't own a smart tv, but I've picked up a Roku, Chromecast, and (Amazon's) Fire TV stick over the past few months. The Fire TV doesn't have Mormon Channel either. I've tried to fix that for the most part by collating videos from the church and making them available, whether through a Roku channel...

Roku App for online and offline viewing with subtitles

Several places throughout the forum I've seen people wondering how to play subtitles for downloaded videos for whatever classes they happen to be teaching that Sunday. I've also noticed there's no convenient way to mass download video content in languages besides English. As there are 3 non-English ...

Re: Roku App

For anyone interested in watching Church content using Roku, I have a project underway that makes all of the content from videos.lds.org and the mobile Gospel Library app available for viewing using my Roku channel. It can even play downloaded videos (with subtitles!) from the USB port. You can add ...

Re: General conference video on media/USB players with subti

I wanted to download some subtitles a while back so I looked into how the online videos did their subtitles and eventually I found a way to download many of the subtitles in an automated fashion. Here are a few different methods you can try. The way I originally got subtitles was using Firefox's dev...

Re: Chromecast not connecting to the internet

I recently tested both a Chromecast and Roku (3) at our stake center and had no issues with either of them.
