Ah. I guess explaining the concept of a white hat hacker is a little to deep? :D

I guess the best analogy is it's like the guy who goes around the ward meeting house each night checking the locks. Trying to find the unlatched doors before the bad guys do.

Have you tried printing something else from another program? The problem is MLS is printing a full-page graphic. It's not text. The best thing you can do is lower the printing DPI so there's fewer pixels to deal with. I think that's why dropping back to a older printer (Like the HP LJ4) helps. PCL5...

I think the instructions that came with Desktop 5.5 are quite clear. That said I'd like to see what the powers that be have to say as well. It does irk me to give all MLS users administrative powers on the computer. I have found a way to bar even admins from changing the date/time and causing proble...

It is my understanding that PAF will not be updated but instead things will be moved to the web with a possible desktop client. That's been my impression as well, but when I've expressed the opinion that the new FamilySearch replaces PAF I've been told that's not true. All I gotta say is given the ...

If you open MLS with a future date, you can't go back. It's a basic security feature built into nearly all financial software to prevent people from cooking the books. If you do this by accident, you have to restore from a backup from before you advanced the clock.

If they are registered, the little envelope icon will appear so adding their email address wouldn't be necessary on the webpage. I think the envelop icon only indicates that there is a email address and it's not hidden. If the envelop is there, then obviously they have registered. If it's not there...

If you install the HP LaserJet 4 and point to to the same port as your HP 1100, that may work. Someone else on another forum reported that using the HP 1100 (MS) drivers did the trick.

Something to keep in mind is that the beta is underway for the new FamilySearch that will replace TempleReady. I'd give TR about 1, maybe 2 years at most before the order comes down from on high to kill it. Plan expenses accordingly. As for your question, since links are being evaluated, I've sent a...

According to this page MANHA is for Manhattan, New York. NYORK is for Harrison, New York.

When I saw this come up before, PAF will complain about codes it doesn't know, but it will accept it. You might poke around and see if there's a file in there somewhere that can be hacked, er, updated.

The only problem was the walkie talkies sometimes wouldn't get through (but that is because they cannot use high power except in a true emergency) I'm guessing they were FRS/GMRS units. When I looked at it, I think the letter of the law was that a someone who wasn't licensed for GMRS couldn't legal...
