Re: Donation Envelope, Personalized

The ward clerk tells me, "I called them - there was a bug that sent the email but didn't really cancel the order. So I had them make sure it really was on order and that we weren't going to get 3 orders and they verified that."

Re: Use facilities tracker for technical issues

People with Internet problems don't want to use a web site to report their issues. Heck, most of them don't want to use e-mail or telephone to report them. They just wait until they see me, and then tell me the have been having problems for the past month or two.

Donation Envelope, Personalized

The store.lds.org site has repeatedly cancelled orders for personalized donation envelopes place by a ward clerk. He received the following message: Thank you for your recent order at store.lds.org. Unfortunately, we did not receive a record of your payment within the specified time and your order h...

Re: Sophos Update Issue-Cannot Connect to Server

Worst case scenario, I have to dump the OS and reinstall all the programs (not hard, just requires time), but I am hopeful that someone has encountered a solution to the problem. If there is no solution found, then I will go to the global services, but I prefer to exhaust all my resources before ha...

Re: Global Service Center

I did the same thing today: clerk, Technical, then into the abyss, and hung up.

Global Service Center

I have always called 866-678-2763 to reach the Global Service Center for networking issues, and it still works. The Technology Manager Home page gives a different number, which I tried, but found to be hopelessly confusing, when I have network issues. Problems with Meetinghouse Internet? If you expe...

Re: 881W installation

I was happy that I replaced the ASA in the stake center yesterday, because I used that ASA today to replace a troublesome PIX in a rural branch. Since the ASA also has PoE, I was able to add an old Aeronet 1200 to the branch meetinghouse to provide more wireless coverage.

Re: 881W installation

By the way, I am pretty happy to have the new tm.lds.org web site. It doesn't do very much, but it provides a lot more information than we used to have. When I called the GSC today, the tech asked me for the serial number of the new firewall. I was able to bring it up in the TM site faster than she ...

881W installation

I replaced the ASA 5505 in the stake center this afternoon. The FM gave me an 881W and a 16-port Cisco switch. The activation went smoothly as documented. The default configuration only gave me 9 static IP addresses, so I called the Global Service Center, and they added another range. The original c...

DNS

Does it matter which DNS addresses I use? I have been setting all church computers to static IP addresses, but I can't decide which DNS IPs to use. Some use the DNS from the ISP, while others use a Google DNS. Does the Church have DNS servers?
