Re: Reliable broadcasting for Stake Conference - how to

30-40 years ago, I enjoyed listening to General Conference in the chapel over a dial-in phone line. I probably paid more attention to the talks back then than I do now, watching in 4K in my living room. Maybe that's because I tend to nod off more quickly now...

Re: Upgrade PC from Win 7 to Win 10

Earlier this year, our son-in-law sold me his used laptop which he had purchased from his work. The IT department had freshly reinstalled the OEM-installed Win 7 OS onto it. Since all of my other PCs are running Win 10, I checked to see if there was still a way to upgrade the OS to Win 10 without p...

Re: Upgrade PC from Win 7 to Win 10

Yes, there is a difference between FamilySearch Support and Family History Center Support, but I believe you have to call the FamilySearch Support number and ask them to connect you to Family History Center Support. It's been several years, but that is what I had to do in the past. During the ten ye...

Re: Upgrade PC from Win 7 to Win 10

Very good point. When I was the STS and my wife was the FHC director, each time we received new computers from the FHC Support office, we were firmly told that they were replacements for the old computers, and were not to be used to increase the number of computers in the FHC. Older computers need t...

Re: Upgrade PC from Win 7 to Win 10

Have you discussed this with your Stake Technology Specialist?
Have you called Family History Center Support?
Have you recently received a FHC equipment inventory request from FHC Support?

Re: Transfer out of Other into Missionary Account

We received a donation for one of our missionaries from another unit without any communication from them. We need to transfer it from Other - Member Authorized Activities (where they put it) into the mission fund. Makes me wonder which of their unit categories was the source of this transfer. I ass...

Re: Delete account.

Excellent point. In this day of spoofing and identity theft, a face-to-face meeting or a signed letter is really necessary to make such a significant request.

Re: Delete account.

People opt-in and opt-out of the Church every day. There are processes established to join and to leave. As I tell my bishop, "If the clerk doesn't do the paperwork, then it didn't happen."

Re: Youth going to college - does limited use recommend still work after record transfer?

We have received the records of adult converts who have active limited-use recommends. It appears an active limited-use recommend remains with the member, regardless of age or movement.
