Thanks for doing this. As a ward finance clerk I have full admin rights on everything, including the Lesson Schedule and Newsletter sites.

Full List of Permissions for Website Administrator

What permissions does the Website Administrator gain beyond just the ability to upload pictures to the ward directory? Can they edit the calendar, lesson schedule and newsletter? Can anything be done to restrict access to these additional tools?

You could try downloading an updated driver. With any luck, Sophos won't quarantine that. I wish there was an updated driver. Unfortunately 2011 was the last update. I've tried removing Sophos, removing the printer drivers, reinstalling everything . . . the whole gamut. As soon as everything is rei...

Sophos Blocking Network Print Spool Driver

We have a Brother MFC8680DN multifunction printer attached to a switch that is shared with our MLS machine. Network printing works from all of the Bishopric's wireless devices, but as of today we are unable to connect to the printer via the MLS machine. Further investigation shows that Sophos has qu...

Quick Tithing Question

Does the Bishop hang on to the Tithing Settlement Statement after marking the declaration status or does it go to the member to hang on to? Our Bishop is also using the Tithing Declaration Report to record the donations.

I don't know. But since the clear intent of the setup file is to make MLS match CUBS, I would certainly hope that you would not be required to make adjustments in MLS to match CUBS again (except that if CUBS doesn't have knowledge of the specific categories for some transactions, we may need to sup...

Once the setup file is processed after October 17, the integration between MLS and CUBS will be even tighter, and there should be no differences. That doesn't mean there will never be problems such as the ones you describe, but they will be the same on both ends, so there will be no reason to trust...

Thanks for all of the input. We'll get it straightened out. Life as a financial clerk is difficult when leaders cut personal checks without speaking to the Bishop in advance and fundraisers are moved after payments for camps are due. :(

After doing the upgrade to MLS 3.4.1, our "Ward Budget Balance forward from CY 2010" dropped by $201. I haven't had the opportunity to research why this has happened yet. However, it is an illustration, I think, of why people don't feel confident of data in MLS: it changes suddenly for no...

Storing Fundrasier Credits in Other Account

Our ward's annual fundraiser for Girl's Camp/Scout Camp got moved beyond the actual dates of the respective camps. Now, having completed the fundraiser, some participants have earned money in excess of what they owed to attend camp (i.e., they paid in full and have now earned excess monies). Should ...
