Another interesting bug in the new directory: a couple in our ward is listed first in the print-version of the directory - that is, when I go to the formatted page to print off a directory, they are first for some reason, even with a last name that starts with the letter O. Could it be they were ent...

To question #2 (why do you use this site), I would add these possible responses: - To select hymns for sacrament meeting or other meetings - To create transpositions of hymns and/or primary songs Now that I think about it, from my point of view as a musician, the two questions are somewhat redundant...

I have replied three times now, and never had a response. I suspect replies to their mass e-mails are probably routed straight to the spam folder.

Public Affairs email announcements

I recently signed up to receive announcements from the church's PR department - they come via email from publicaffairs-slc@ldschurch.org . There is always a vague subject line, but the emails never actually contains anything other than links to forward this vague email to other people. Here's one I ...

Until this spring, we still had two Sunday sessions of stake conference, because the stake center (which it really wasn't) couldn't hold the entire stake at once. Half the wards were assigned to the morning, and the other half in the afternoon. As the stake music chair and choir director, I had the ...

There is one quick solution you can use to take advantage of non-profit bulk mail rates, but it would involve receiving a letter from the IRS designating your ward/branch/stake/whatever as a 501 (c) 3 organization (i.e. not-for-profit). Technically, all wards and branches are, but under the general ...

I wholeheartedly agree with the need for access to the church logo on official documents. Usage of low-quality logos happens quite frequently in this state, in newspaper ads promoting community events, printed programs for sacrament meetings, firesides, community concerts, stake music concerts, etc....

Library Inventory and Checkout

Has any thought been given to computerizing the meetinghouse library? Such software would create an excellent record of who has what items, and what items even exist in the first place. It'd also enhance the choir music usage process -- in our building of four wards, we never know which choir has wh...

This is a very good thread, All the way out here in Oregon, we have the same problems with building security and misdeeds -- although here, it tends to be the members who are to blame. The high councilor in charge of physical facilities in our stake determined that the root of the problem was too ma...
