Re: Direct Deposit, Can anyone do this, and if so how?
Interesting, I was never asked if I wanted to make my deposits "private." At tithing settlement time we can't find any record on the local machine through MLS. I need to bring in the statements that the church sends me. SL gives me monthly statements, quarterly, and end of year. Tithing se...

Re: Update on new PC's from CHQ
I'm assuming that the church is having them come without bloatware.
Do you see and Office Software coming pre-installed on the machines?

Office 2003 support Ends 4/8/2014 with XP
We are using Office 2003 on our clerk machine and in the FHC. I see that support for Office 2003 ends when the XP operating system support ends. Does anyone know if the church plans to roll-out a newer version (2007, 2010, etc) to us? I know Microsoft wants everyone to switch to their newest inventi...

Re: Support for Windows XP being discontinued
My thought was that since it had Windows 7 on it originally, it wouldn't take much to put it back, besides reinstalling MLS and Sophos (church managed security software). I have authorized Windows 7 pro install CDs (from my non-church work) and can get reinstall church software from the church downl...

Re: Meetinghouse Technology Policy on Printers
In fact, I did exactly that yesterday. I plugged the MFP in the meetinghouse library into the adjacent Ethernet port, then set it to use a static IP address. Now it is available to any computer in the building that knows its IP address (or hostname) and happens to have the correct drivers installed...

Security Support for Windows XP ENDS 4/8/2014
Could it be that MLS does not run on Windows 7 or 8?

Security Support for Windows XP ENDS 4/8/2014
We have a Dell computer for the clerk's office that came with Windows 7 but was downgraded to XP when we received it. The license key is still on the Windows 7 sticker on the side of the machine. We contacted the church tech department asking for an CD so we could return it back to Windows 7 but wer...

Re: 881W Rack Mounting Ears
We typically do not put our equipment in enclosed steel grilled cabinets but we had no choice. We had to use shielded cables, shielded switch, shielded patch panel, and shielded terminations for all runs. Including all cables from wall jacks to each PC. This was due to this building being located so...

Re: Videonics MX-1 Video Mixer Tips and Tricks
I tried to find a model number but was unsuccessful. Attached is a picture of two of the units we used. I found one on eBay but the price they want is high. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-Video-Stabilizer-for-1st-2nd-Generation-copying-/180998743975?pt=US_Audio_Video_Transmitters&hash=item2a245...

Re: Page numbers
I agree, page numbers would be nice especially when we have some people with hard copies while others, like me, use a tablet or smartphone.
