A belated thanks Rontilby. Yes, I found that same feature when I went to the Stake computer to create a custom list for our Stake Presidency. Even though there is no “criteria” for it, I was very pleased that there is a “format” option for having children. About half of the ...

They want “have children” period (even if they don’t live with them). Your proposed solution sounds do-able, albeit entailing quite a bit more work than I anticipated. I think I’ll just do the first round list, and then have the bishops or their clerks make the child...

Custom Reports- Have Children ?

As a stake memb clerk, I’ve been asked to generate a custom report quickly for our Stake which includes a particular category of members, including whether they have children. Is anyone familiar with whether that have-children “criteria” is available in MLS?

Thanks for those replies gentlemen. My bishopric coworker (at the risk of disfellowshipment) pulled up that 13.6.2 of Handbook 1 and sent a copy to me, the stake membership clerk (who doesn’t have access to Handbook 1). It’s interesting that the Bishop alone can’t ...

Removing Records of Unbaptized People

I’m sure this question has been discussed on this site somewhere in the past, but I couldn’t readily find it. Many infants are given a name and a blessing with less-active and inactive families. A membership record is then created for them as “child of record”. Most of them continue with their paren...

While you're on this thread, does anyone associated with Membership Dept know off hand about how many records are in the Address Unknown file of the Church? I commend all clerks who try extensively to find the forwarding addresses of members who've moved out of their ward (there are many avenues for...

I'm the stake membership clerk in our Davis Co stake. I began what ended up being a long string on this topic a couple of months ago when this Wasatch Front YSA initiative was implemented. I mentioned that I had talked with our Quorum of Seventy ward member about his impressions of how and which YSA...

I made our second YSA records transfer this week. The first time I noted (as all of you I’m sure realize) that you can’t use the Boundary Realignment (BR) function to pick out individual young people to transfer who are in a household (that function is only set up to transfer the entire household). ...

Another problem that’s come up with this YSA records transfer, is how apparently someone in the Memb Dept has set some sort of protocol for automatically transferring YSA records from home wards to the new YSA wards without their being initiated on the ward level. This has happened in the pas...

It’s a little surprising there hasn’t been more discussion here about this significant YSA records transfer along the Wasatch Front. Our Bishop had spoken with 3 YSA members from our ward last week who were ready to have their records transferred to our new YSA ward in Centerville. So I...
