The current official policy ( http://tech.lds.org/wiki/images/a/aa/Policy_and_Guidelines_for_Computers_Used_by_Clerks_for_Church_Record_Keeping.pdf ) states the following: Each record-keeping computer’s central processing unit (CPU) is normally replaced on a five-year cycle. So the normal cycle is 5...

I couldn't see any benefit. The software would have to be rewritten to work on tablets, a laptop can cost the same as a tablet (the cheaper Android tablets probably wouldn't be powerful enough nor easily support bar code scanners), and the space at the front desks isn't that limited.

The goal for the Church this year is to get broadband Internet in all the U.S. units where it is feasible at a reasonable cost. If your stake president doesn't feel impressed to have each unit in the stake setup, however, then it doesn't need to be done. It depends on whether he feels the need or no...

Be it a clerk office or satellite closet or equipment room or some other location out of sight and low traffice area. Just get the stake president's approval for the work and reason and ask the FM group to run...

Unplugging the WAPs isn't too difficult. For the 881W unplugging the antennas tends to remove the signal from the chapel (depending on location) which is where the majority of wireless users are located during conference. One can always cover the 881W too with a screen. This website has one approach...

Our stake had the wireless networks setup to use custom a SSID (not LDSAccess) so they could change the password when they wanted. It is given out only to leaders especially for some of the ward buildings that weren't able to get very fast Internet speeds (limited and expensive ISP choices).

You could do it the old fashioned way... and unplug them during Stake Conference. We're trying to get new equipment approved by the FM group... and my plan is to change the wireless password right before each stake conference. (If that doesn't work... I'll unplug them as well.) The newer 801W and 1...

It is an ebook. You make annotations on your Kindle so your notes are on the Kindle. The Kindle has automatic backup of your annotations too.

I'm guessing the network port wasn't left disabled in the bios, but you might want to check.
