Bank vs Deposit

In our audit, they found on the statement how the bank has a different deposit amount then what we sent to the church. Actually we have two, one from Jan, and one from March. Our auditor said that there is no way to know if the bank found the check or corrected anything. They said the only thing we ...

Wrong Check number

We got a new Assistant ward clerk. I was going to have the old Assistant ward clerk show the new guys how to do things, I was probably going to help some. We only had one bishopric counselor and he had some family stuff so they moved doing tithing to Thursday this last week. I wasn't there. Today at...

Re: Online donation training

Thanks. I thought there had to be a way to download that video. Bummer about not being able to pay fund raising money through it. It must be one of those money rules or something. Maybe instead of dong a type of live demo I grab some screen shots. Show the different pages. (I blur out stuff I don't ...

Online donation training

This is really just an idea right now. Our stake/ward just got turned on to do tithing online. I created a walk through handout with screen shots and all and put in the ward program. I still don't think enough people have even tried it. I just had a thought that maybe I show the intro video that com...

Re: Membership Clerk Donation Privileges in MLS

Why is the membership clerk doing finances? Is the Fiance clerk doing membership stuff? They are different roles. You give permissions in MLS based off what there roles are. So yes, you could add the financial permissions to any user the bishop wants. He would need to know what he is doing. (Go thro...

Re: YW Camp Fundraiser

The second one makes sense.

Why would the member need to see it on there YTD totals?

Re: Checks for scout troops

Technically the church can't cash checks made out to the scouts. Most to all Scout funds stay in the scouting program. If the ward needs to pay for scouting activity the ward needs to pay for it. If the organization is trying to help pay for your ward to go to Scout Camp they should pay the ward. (a...

Get a total of Fast Offerings Medical

I don't know if there is an easy way of getting this value. When filling out a fast offering medical expense there is a number of fields we fill out. Who the check is to -- usually a Doctor or Hospital The purpose -- We put some short hand code of who it is for and what it was. (each ward clerk doin...

Re: YW Camp Fundraiser

So they did the fundraiser. The bishopric member wrote a check to cover for the pizzas. He wanted to get reimbursed today, but I told him it would better if we wait until we put the funds into the other account. I got those funds today also. Because of family events we plan on doing it on Weds. Some...

Re: YW Camp Fundraiser

That seems viable. I have a bigger concern that the fund raising may not comply with Handbook 2: 13.6.8 . Ultimately it's up to the local leadership to interprate the Handbook, but I'd question if it wasn't "Activities that would be taxable", "Activities completed with paid labor&quo...
