Policies and Guidelines

We just received an update of the "Policies and Guidelines for Computers Used by Clerks for Church Recording Keeping" which is dated August 2009. In it states: "If MLS is used on a family history center computer, the MLS database should be stored on external media and locked in a secu...

Again, great information. It is good to see the discussion. It really helps me so that when I go back to my Stake Clerk I can have a good position as to why we need the change. Without any of you actually knowing my Stake President or his reasons why he in particular would want to stick with Extende...

OK, good suggestions. I am just a Ward Clerk, and I have submitted these sites to our Stake Clerk, who of course handed it over to his Tech. They have submitted the sites to CHQ, but nothing has changed. Maybe it isn't a filtering thing. When I go to Return and Report (I know that it isn't an approv...

Categories

OK, so I went onto the Websense web site and saw the categories they list. Which ones do each access use? If I am to suggest to websense that a site should be unblocked (i.e. returnandreport.org, google docs, etc.), which categories do I suggest they add to those web sites?

OK, so I signed my wife up for the old Family Search the other day, and was able to log into it (the old one) and work fine (of course getting the pop-ups that everyone has been talking about it). I have tried several times in the past days to sign her up for the new Family Search with no success. W...

Newbie

OK, so I am new at this and have been reading this post and have gotten a pretty good idea about this. We are having our first missionary in several years go out next month. I have created a sub-category for her under our Ward Missionary budget. I will inform the Bishop to have the family start payi...

Helper Mode

OK, so I logged into NFS as myself, went to the Home tab, and clicked on "Sign in to help someone else." I then had to put my wife's name, her birthdate, and the last five digits of her member number. It then let me see her information and her ancestry (which really helped to find the FSID...

2. If old FS registration is indeed required, can a member without an old account register for old FS, then immediately register with new FS? I just registered my wife for the old family search. I then went and tried to register her for the new family search. It gave me the same message that the ne...

Change of Tithing Batch

OK, if there is an obvious answer or this is answered somewhere else, please tell me. Besides that, here's my question: I had a member of my ward call me this last week. When they came in for Tithing Settlement they noticed a Tithing payment missing. They had mailed it in to the Bishop and he had it...

It is good to hear that my ward was not the only one that had this problem. I didn't have any problems as a financial clerk at the time having HQ transferring the money. I was asked if we had spoken to the other Bishop, which we had of course. Taking care of this got me in the position that I'm in (...
