Re: Overload to webcasting system

Today I had a friend contact me about the best way to stream sacrament meetings in his buildings, I pointed him to this website and to using the Meetinghouse Webcasting web interface (webcast.churchofjesuschrist.org), he went to his bishop to ask about this (he is the executive secretary) and the b...

Re: Stake System Broadcasting Green Screen Through Teradek

For our stake broadcast room, we have a Roland VR-50HD (which has been discontinued and seems like Roland VR-50HD MK II and VR-4HD current replacements) We pipe the building's AV system through the Roland Mixer and have the mixer plug into the Teradek encoder. The Mixer makes it easier for us to swi...

Re: Recurring events with Church Webcast scheduler

Scheduling reoccurring meetings was deployed this week - but the Stream URL and Stream Name still change each week. The WebCast portal said they are trying to support static encoding URLs and Stream Names by the end of November.

Re: Scheduling a broadcast

Agreed - if you schedule it for a different time - it can confuse members of the ward/stake - especially if you have multiple wards/events scheduled each Sunday. As long as you do proper testing before hand, the 1 hour "Pre Event Buffer" is more than enough to get everything up and running...

Re: Mevo Camera & Liahona WiFi Pop-up

Also - one note on this, when it comes to Iphones, with the arrival if iOS 14 - now your Apples Device generates a new MAC Address for every wifi network it encounters. If you have turned off the splash screen for your own personal iphone, you will want to turn off this feature or you will start see...

Re: Glitchy webcasts

bphilli7, you may also want to provide information on what type of encoder you are using and what the internet bandwidth capacity for the building is. Also information like: Do you turn off wifi in your building for broadcasts? was the encoder using a wired connection? etc.

Re: Certificate error of Webcast service

Yeah, this was clearly an error in the certificate installed for the mywebcast.churchofjesuschrist.org - while yes, the church was defaulting to HTTP (presumably to save on CPU resources and not feeling the need for encryption or Search Engine Optimization - Google gives ranking preference to TLS si...

Re: Church Webcast - Weekly Recurring Event & Other Updates

This is huge - thank you! Not only does this save time - but it cuts down in stupid mistakes I have made because of all the manual data entry in setting up each ward each week. We'll let you know how it goes.

Re: Broadcasting Sacrament w/o Ordinance-CoVid-19

Tony Howell, for what it's worth, during 2 separate stake conference I have had 1 area authority and 1 general authority personally tell me that we had authorization, as long as our stake president also approved, to stream sacrament meeting to our shut ins to a list of people the Bishop approved. Lo...

Re: PTZ Visca Control with USB Joystick

Jeremy, thank you for sharing this. Any chance you can release some compiled binaries that work on Windows for Golang? I would love to try this out but I'm not much of a developer to build from source.
