iPod Wireless

If I were wanting to do this, the best application to do this would be aircrack. Granted it would take a lot of time to crack WEP or WPA, etc... but just have a laptop setup and left in a building for a week and you may get enough packets to crack the key. The key to cracking WEP is quantity of pack...

Upgrades

The main reason I asked was because I asked the person that had this job before me (and I think we asked via the MLS message system - pre Desktop 5.5) and the answer I got both times was no - wait for the church to send the upgrade. I saw that the mls.lds.org site pointed to www.openoffice.org , but...

Sadly, I am the STS. Thanks for the info. I too have been looking forward to a lot of the features in version 3. Thought I would check before possibly screwing something up.

New OpenOffice Versions

I was wondering what the policy was on updating OpenOffice to newer versions. The last time we got an update was when we installed the Desktop 5.5 image. I know that OpenOffice v3.0 has just been released. Are we to wait for updates via MLS? Our computers are not connected to the Internet, so I woul...

Okay, I can see what you are talking about now. I was still thinking about just automatic pulling of data from MLS. I guess I am not familiar with how the data is stored in the MLS or LUWS. I would have guessed that every position (regardless if it is a custom calling or not) would have a relationsh...

ISO Files

Has the Church considered posting .ISO files for the Stake Technical Specialist (STS) people so that they can make good consistent copies of the broadcasts? There would be some logistical issues and you wouldn't want to take away from the DVD sales (i.e. General Conference DVDs), but it would be use...

Follow Up

Okay, the dust has finally settled and here is what happened. I got the information you had sent me to the proper people and they were able to get our wards re-allocated. We moved some computers around and everything seems to be running. Didn't get any calls on the first Sunday of the change. Thanks...

Suggestion for MLS

One thing that I find odd is that the leadership directory in the ward website system requires manual updating. Is there any reason why this information can not just be pulled from MLS? Having to store the same exact information manually in more than one place usually leads to discrepancies, errors...

Quick Suggestion

Just as a quick solution, our ward likes to put all the cell numbers into the field and separate them with a "|". Usually, the head of the house is first, then subsequent numbers afterwards.

Sorry. I wasn't wanting to divert this discussion. I was trying to support the idea that the Priesthood Session was a required meeting for all priesthood holders, hence why the satellite stream was encrypted and not shown on the Internet. I look forward to seeing something official from HQ.
