Priesthood Session

I asked my bishop what he thought about the topic, and his suggestion was that it may be related to the question while getting temple recommends about "Have you attended all your priesthood meetings?". He said that General Priesthood session is counted towards that question. Still doesn't answer the...

Stake MLS

That last statement helped make sense of a question I had. I was wondering why the Stake MLS database didn't contain any leadership information from the individual wards. That would be another big help, being able to see the leadership info on the Stake Level. Often callings for Ward Clerk, Ward Bul...

I agree it's not always the easiest to find things on clerk.lds.org. In this case, there are two fairly straightforward ways: ⋅ Do a troubleshooting search for "discontinued" -- the desired article is one of the two hits. ⋅ Go to MLS Technical in the Top Troubleshooting Articles...

MLS and Stake Changes

Today our Stake had their Ward boundaries changed. We went from 6 wards to 5. All of our wards were renamed as well. We will still be using the same unit numbers (minus one). Is there anything special that I will need to do with MLS? Will the records automatically move to the new wards? Will the nam...

Free Software

The two software items that I use are MediaCoder and AVI2DVD. I use MediaCoder to convert the MP4 to an AVI file (using Xvid for video and MP3 for audio). After I get the AVI file, I use AVI2DVD to author the DVD. It doesn't have the fancy menu structure, but you can set the times to create chapters...

Macintosh vs Others

Here is what I am thinking: "Show me a product that doesn't have issues and I can show you a product that doesn't have market share." Mac has been gaining a lot of popularity lately. OSX is a clean looking operating system. It does some wonderful things. I use a Mac at work quite often. One reason t...

CES Broadcast

Most of the CES Broadcasts are available online (see http://lds.org/broadcast/ces/0,7341,538-1-61-1521,00.html ). What you can do is download the MP4 of the broadcast and you can then get it made into a DVD using some free software out there. It takes a while to get it done, but it makes really good...
