Re: Balun Recommendations?
This one does carry power so it takes care of the primary issue while making the rest of the cabling easier as well.

Balun Recommendations?
I just got a quote from our FM group for putting in a new power outlet for our camera. Needless to say I am now looking for a balun solution instead, it should be cheaper. I have found this solution on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C5TL62A/ has anyone used this model? Does it work with...

Re: Balanced output provided for webcast connections
Just wanted to update you all with what I ended up using. The audio from the building had been run straight into the camera RF modulator according to the blueprints and someone cut the line and put in a RDL ST-DA3 distribution amp. There was a bit of humm as well the level issue. A local professiona...

Re: Webcast Movement Problem
Ooh, I like that suggestion. With weak signal and a horizontal dark surface at the bottom of the frame it would be easy to loose sync.

Re: Coax connections
Looks like a 720p ATSC modulator runs ~$900 these days. NTSC modulators were quite expensive too until DVD players made the a needed accessory. I am sure the NTSC modulators were that expensive in the 80's then they first started putting these in. Our satellite receiver has Component HD outputs and ...

Re: Balanced output provided for webcast connections
Would a simple attenuator in the 12db range do the same thing? I have found this on several online stores. http://www.amazon.com/Harrison-Labs-Lin ... 0006N41B0/

Re: Coax connections
That would be an interesting infrastructure, Cat5e/6 run to all locations and balun faceplates. It should work for existing composite infrastructure and could be upgraded, I am just not sure if it can care RF channel based signals. Only problem I see with HDMI being the future would be the lack of a...

Re: Balanced output provided for webcast connections
So use 3.3k and 2.2k resistors? Is the top lead with the inline resistor in your diagram the male center post of an RCA or the ring around it?

Re: Balanced output provided for webcast connections
True, they tend to be called the same in sales material because the connectors are often balanced and unbalanced appropriately. Given the RCA connection in the satellite cabinet I would have to say we have pro level unbalanced being fed into consumer level unbalanced. Is there an easy in-line device...

Re: Balanced output provided for webcast connections
Pro = Balanced Consumer = Unbalanced So really it is 2 names for the same thing. The Wikipedia article goes into it more. We got a single mounted camera as well but I am working hard to avoid being stuck in the 'recording booth' in the library, I would prefer to be in the chapel. The audio quality m...
