Re: New Technology Manager Features

Having been involved in software development I understand the desire to not advertise that which may or may not work. I just hope they give us some instructions eventually.

New Technology Manager Features

I just noticed TM has a new feature called Building Password. What is the purpose of this feature and is it functional yet? Is this a way of locking down WiFi during Webcasts?

I noticed there is much more information exposed as well including connected APs etc. Anything key here?

Re: Sony EVI-D70 Camera Control

Has anyone tried an Ethernet to RS-422 server device? I am looking at this one in particular http://www.startech.com/Networking-IO/Serial-over-IP/1-Port-RS-232-422-485-Serial-over-IP-Ethernet-Device-Server~NETRS2321E We are likely only going to have a one camera so no video switching/mixing will be ...

Re: Webcast Video Switching - Multi-Camera setup questions

I didn't know they were installing cameras in new buildings, too bad ours is about 10 years old. I saw this post recently http://myadventuresintucson.blogspot.com/2013/02/a-new-church-building.html and thought it was a special case for cameras. Clearly their budget was quite a bit larger than most t...

Webcast Video Switching - Multi-Camera setup questions

I see many of you use multiple cameras to get the general conference look. What options are there for switching video inputs for webcasts? I see the Webcast Communicator has multiple video inputs, can you switch them on the fly? How about using the Webcast software, can you change cameras in softwar...

Qwest / Century Link Feedback - Be polite!

I got a call this week that the internet at one of our buildings is down. The clerk was not very technical so I went out and took a look at things. Turns out there is a problem with the DSL link so I contacted CenturyLink (the old Qwest guys). In the course of the conversation the tech let me know h...

Well I did our speed test and it is just over 700 Kbps as expected. So I should be able to run about 300 Kbps (Best on Communicator and ?? on the Software). Will this be pretty good quality?

Thanks for the policy reminder, if this is broadcast it will be under the direction of our Temple Presidency. If it comes up I will mention it to them, I am sure they have a direct line to the Area Presidency if needed. Many of our Temple Workers travel 5+ hrs each way and the presidency would like ...

Bandwidth Requirements - real world

I am looking to do my first webcast in April. Our stake is not large geographically so we have not needed it but the local Temple wants to do a fireside for all the workers. We are going to try to get a Webcast Communicator from a neighboring Stake but I may just setup the software on the Stake Cler...
