Re: ISP abuse notice
In talking to our Facilities Manager they have gotten several of the notices a;; from the same ISP. Charter / Spectrum. The other issue here is the "threat" they give if it isn't resolved: "Please be advised that Spectrum’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) explicitly prohibit actions, whet...

ISP abuse notice
The ISP for our stake center has sent me an email. I checked the headers and it seems legit though I haven't called them and I haven't called LDS Global Help desk. the message: "Issue Description – A device on your network is capable of a network-impacting, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) ...

Re: Windows 10 Upgrade
Has this upgrade happened for anyone yet? I got the email notification June 22nd. I have left several of our Stakes computers on since that day. Haven't seen anything happen yet. Usually there is a hidden system folder on the "c" drive that has the upgrade files in it. So, even if it is ta...

Re: Webcast Test has Tapping Sound When Choir Signs
We are having stake conference this weekend and I looked on my webcaster and found the file I was given to correct that issue. If you need it let me know but I am sure the help desk can get it to you also. It is about 25mb and is a zip file that says lds communicator audio. We still have the issue o...

Re: Webcast Test has Tapping Sound When Choir Signs
Are you using a Meetinghouse Webcaster? I seem to recall having this issue. It seems like I was directed to download an audio driver to fix the issue. I have looked back through my email and can't find any reference to it. Might have been something the help desk walked me through.

Re: Meetinghouse Firewall Upgrade Available to FMs/STSs
I have completed our Stake Routers upgrade. Wanted to post some of my experience here. We have 9 buildings. 11 wards/branchs. 881 routers. all buildings have FHC. Since all our buildings have FHC and I also had new Clerk computers to distribute I bit the bullet and did the whole stake over 5 day per...

Re: 2015 Computer Standards
For anyone interested in outcomes.... I went with Dell. They have come in, set them up and distributed them. They are Dell OptiPlex 7020 w/ i3-4050 (3.50GHz) 4gb ram 64bit windows 7 sp1, 500gb hard drive, 8gb usb drive. So far our clerks have been happy with the improved performance. As I distribute...

Re: Webcaster power up issues
I did that for our last conference but decided I wanted a more permanent solution. But yes simply removing the cover does allow it to keep cool enough.

Re: Webcaster power up issues
Forgot I had posted this here. Must not be to big of a problem but thought I would post what I found out and how I resolved it. I guess we have an older model of the webcaster. Newer ones include a cooling fan. Evidently our issue was related to overheating. I installed a cooling fan in the case and...
