Re: Our Stake's permanent camera setup

Our FM head is great, he'll help us on everything we ask. Whenever I send him an email or a phone message, I get a good detailed reply. He wants to let us mount cameras, but he just isn't wanting to fight the Presiding Bishopric on mounting cameras. Especially in non-stake buildings. I wonder if we...

Re: End of Webcasting in July 2022: Please transition to Zoom

I read that as it'll be back, just the date is unknown. I tend to agree agree. I also read (and this is only my personal opinion) that with the ups and downs of church services of late, it's probably all hands on deck to ensure all conference sessions go flawlessly. After conference, everyone can g...

Re: Gospel library app not recognizing internet connection

I just tried again and now the app is working. I guess the services were down or offline for maintenance or something. Yes, it's not been good week for church web services. They've been struggling to get them all consistently working, and with conference looming, I can only imagine where their prio...

Re: Church Webcasts using YouTube Live Streams

The question is how long will it take you to find out something has happened? If you're quietly monitoring on a phone, the delay is 5-10 seconds, depending on the YouTube buffer setting. I think the suggestion of leaving auto-stop off and switching to unlisted when it's over is a safer plan. That c...

Re: Church Webcasts using YouTube Live Streams

If I set up a YouTube Live broadcast to auto start and to auto stop, if the encoder goes down during the meeting and the stream auto stops, will it start again if the encoder goes back online, or am I forced to set up a new stream? With auto-stop enabled, you have exactly 60 seconds to restart the ...

Re: Erasing clerk computer hard drives

Thanks for sharing! A little more info: ShreadOS uses nwipe, which is an ongoing, open source, fork of DBAN. (DBAN's last version was in 2015.) This is a nice wrapper for Nwipe that can be used with either a graphical user interface (GUI), or command-line interface (CLI). (Nwipe is CLI only.)

Re: LCR Access

I just got a call from my stake patriarch wondering why he couldn't upload his blessings. I told him about some of the disruptions in LCR, finance, and other church systems and told him I would ask if anyone in the forum had an update. Any news?

Re: Getting Video From Podium to Switcher

The only thing that comes to mind is either the Extron VGA extender or your HDMI to VGA adapter might be limited in total bitrate. Did you try switching the notebook to lower resolutions/frame rates, like 720p/30, or even 640x480, just to see if you could get a signal through? Our recent A/V upgrade...

Might have been a temporary thing, because this morning I'm able to login without any problem.
