Pleas for MLS modernization, and a question on IT recruiting

1. When will MLS allow us to have a phone and email for each family member, as opposed to 1 or 2 for the entire family? 2. When will family contact information on lds.org be linked to MLS? 3. Has the Church ever given thought to hiring technology workers who don't have to live in Utah (or otherwise ...

I found that MLS easily lets you remove an ordination. Basically, you click "remove".

In this particular case, the original ordination, performed years ago, never took place (hence the reason for the request to have it removed).

It could very well be that I've drastically misinterpreted the request; it was conveyed by a third party in an email and I'm not in a position today to validate/clarify it. Just wondering if anyone might have heard of a similar request. The entire request was "change XYZ's priesthood ordination from...

From Seventy to Elder

We have a brother who was at one point ordained a 70, way back when this was a local thing. He is not currently a high priest, and has never been ordained as such -- he is still a 70. I've been asked to change his priesthood office to "Elder". I haven't been over to the Church to try this yet, but h...

Twins?

I wish there were a way to dictate birth order for twins in MLS. We just blessed and created records for some. On the mother's record, the older twin is listed before the younger one. On the father's record, the younger twin is listed before the older one. (I did create the records in the right orde...

Thanks, Alan. I'm finding that even the basic notion of a being able to write custom reports is enough to thrill the auxiliaries, so I won't lose too much sleep over it. I believe that the logic MLS is using is something like (((((4A and 4B) or 5A) and 5B) or 6A) and 6B), which pretty much ensures t...

Interestingly, MLS custom reports do allow you to create logic that looks like Class = 11A and Class = 11B or Class = 5A and Class = 5B or Class = 4A and Class = 4B I'm not sure exactly what MLS is doing in this case, but in my testing it seems to be ignoring the first 4 criteria and just showing m...

Of course, this will only help if the membership records are updated and complete. We have 30+ MP holders in our ward where the "Ordained by" is blank.

Custom report logic help

I'm trying to write a custom report to identify which children (if any) are assigned to more than one primary class, but I can't figure out if there are adequate criteria to do this. (If I could write raw SQL, this is easy.) This arises from the fact that we've split primary classes into 5A/5B, 6A/6...

It's an excellent idea. There is a priesthood holder in my ward who has an atypical melchezidek priesthood ordination sequence dating back to the 1980s ... and he has a letter from a member of the twelve indicating it's fine. Of course, every time he moves (every few years) this becomes an issue bec...
