The perpetual "money left in other acct" question
Our girls did a silent auction fundraiser for girls camp. Then they went to girls camp. The auction raised more than they spent. I 'm just now noticing that we have a few hundred dollars sitting in that bucket. I read that that money is to be returned to the donors. Problem is we had many donors, wi...

Scout Camp on Sunday
What is Church policy on duration of scout camp? Some units I know are attending an "official" BSA camp from Saturday to Saturday, others are going Monday to Saturday. I've found some oblique references to not camping over the Sabbath but am looking for something more direct, if it exists....

Ward Building Representative
I have to get used to not saying PFR I guess.
Section 8.2.7 of HB1 talks about the ward building representative. It uses the pronoun "he." Does that mean that the ward building representative has to be a brother and can't be a sister?

MLS primary installation vs alternate installation
So, when installing MLS I got an interesting dialog box that said: Is this the primary installation for this unit, or is this an alternate installation? Alternate installations should not transmit for the primary installation without direction from headquarters." If this is the primary installa...

Recording member changes using Leader and Clerk Resources
Hi,
I think the answer is no, but is is possible to record events like death or divorce for a member using Leader and Clerk Resources?
Thank you.

How to handle Primary to YW
Hi all,
We're breaking in a new bishop. What happens when an active female member turns 12? Is there some kind of recognition in sacrament meeting by the bishop? We can't find a handbook reference or other authoritative source.
Thank you.

Is donation to scout camp tax deductible?
Our bishop has had some dialog with a benefactor who would like to pay for scout camp for all our boys. He is not a member of the ward, in fact I'm not sure he's even a member at all. But can he write a check to cover scout camp, and have that be tax deductible? I ask because I recall some discussio...

Re: New Ward Budget Calculations
Well. My next conversation with him is going to be fun. . . I shall use words like time machine and ineluctable, and he will likely scramble for a dictionary, like I did. . . I see that the date of our unit's 2013Q1 "Quarterly Budget Allowance" notification is 10 Jan 2013. And our quarterl...

Re: New Ward Budget Calculations
Guys, I thought, as you posted above, that current budget is based on attendance two quarters ago. But my stake clerk told me today that that had changed to 1 quarter ago, i.e. 2013Q1 dollars come from 2012Q4 attendance. Is he correct? Has anyone else heard of this changing?
Thanks.
Thanks.
