Access to CDOL

Hi everyone, I participated in some on-line conversations in the past about who had access to CDOL. A 1st counselor in a bishopric in my stake does NOT have access. That suprises me. Is that a fluke, or is that standard? I figured if they gave assistant ward clerks access they would surely give bish...

Out of Unit Member

If I add a missionary couple as out of unit members of the ward in MLS, will they be able to access our ward's directory and maps from lds.org?

They are from the local area, but are called and set apart missionaries. Their records are in their home ward.

Thanks.

How would you know the boundaries of the other unit? The CDOL is a wonderful resource when moving records out. You can actually download KMZ files of a stake's boundaries, including individual unit boundaries within the stake, and open them in Google Earth. Using that tool eliminates a lot of the r...

I see no reason to specify a family ward if you've provided an address. Wow! I'm not trying to be contentious, and I may be ignorant of the process, but when CHQ has to figure out the ward based on the address the clerk provides, it is either done by the computer or by a Church employee. If by a co...

Thanks for the feedback, all of which I agree with. Some comments on the comments: I've been the membership clerk for about three weeks now. We've had a brother on our roles who has been divorced and gone now for about three years. Through some sleuthing, I learned where he lived, but did not have a...

Is the new address known? Why ask the question if you won't let me answer!

In 3.4.2 (my version anyway), when moving records out, if you complete the " Unit Information " section before you complete the " Address " section, MLS greys out the "Is the new address known?" radio buttons, and expects you to enter the address, and greys out the " Contact Information " portion. T...

Another re-start Question: WardInfo

Back when I was clerking before, I used a fabulous program called WardInfo. Created by Doug Mills. Does anyone know if it is still viable, i.e. does it support the current version of MLS? I have LDS Tools on my android phone, but it provides just the basics, as a clerk I want something that will inc...

The wiki is awesome!! I was looking at our ward map, which had a grand total of a couple of verified household locations, and a bunch of unverified and flat out wrong locations. I didn't know how to change them, so searched it up on the WIKI, and presto! And changing them is EASY! And the map resolu...
