Re: Family Safe Tracking for all devices

That's probably true of most consumer routers, one would have to check the specs of any given router to see if you can get that type of data. K9 will give you the categories of websites visited. Those categories that are heavily visited will show at the top. Even bad categories will see the occasion...

Re: Announcing a new Technology Manager Feature

Thanks JD, I'm thinking these posts related to the question about reports for home firewall users need to be split off from the 881W thread, could you put these in a new thread?

Re: Family Safe Tracking for all devices

I would go to their site, getk9.com, and look for a support email address. They could tell you if it does, or how to get an emailed report, or if that is not a feature at present, that would be a very good feature request.

Re: Request Form for Family File Card

If the living person is being sealed to her deceased husband, it's done through Family Tree. The form is called a 'Family Ordinance Request'. You prepare the name in Family Tree (now right on FamilySearch.org) then go through the temple screens there to get the FOR printed, then she takes it to the ...

TM Feature Request: sites-visited statistic

Some filtering software provides a sites-visited statistic (would also include strays that were visited due to typing something in the browser in error), but in the case of the Church, I doubt that would be available locally. I think all the big enterprise-class filter vendors provide such a stat wi...

Re: Family Safe Tracking for all devices

Blue Coat's K9 is available on routers that use ZoneAlarm. K9 provides logs for you as well. Maybe not as detailed but they could help you with info on how to interpret the data. For smartphones and tablets used away from home, the K9 app is available for them, that's a modified Firefox browser, and...

Re: New Firewall Filter

I've heard that before, it's Zscaler, and it regularly misses a lot of bad sites. I've been running spam sites through it and it's scoring of problem websites, particularly some malware, phishing, and other spam sites that may contain other malicious code, is dismal. It even misses many blacklisted ...

Re: New Firewall Filter

I do hope they go to Blue Coat, it's the best filter for blocking problem sites, virus spreaders, porn, and other online safety issues on the web, they can trap many things everyone else misses, before you see it and it's almost ironclad, and getting better daily. And they are able to now filter You...

Re: New LDS.org Search

I have seen a glitch or two with the new search, it returns the result wanted but when clicked on, the link returns an error page. Look up the video 'Have I Done Any Good?' (the Mormon Channel Alex Boye/Carmen Rasmussen Herbert one), and once there click on the link to view it, that returned the not...

Re: 881W firewall limiting port throughput

Was that genealogy conference one of the test sites for the RootsTech satellite conferences? I was made aware of one of them, genealogykc.org. Saw the maps showing the 16 sites and the 600 they want to do hopefully next year.
