I just recalled some of the history of the old system and how you interacted with it when you went to the temple. The new system being outlined in this thread as information comes in from people who have been told of it indicates that things will be alot simpler than what the old magnetic strip enco...

The idea here is that one could tie their submission via the recommend numbe voluntarily, so that if they forgot the sheet, maybe they could voluntarily enter their recommend number when printing the Family Ordinance Request out, then if for some reason they found they didn't have the paper, they co...

The old 'Springville' system as some called it here, was a proprietary system in the broadest sense of the word as it was specifically programmed and designed for the temples and recording family histoyr work. It was implemented in 1980 and discarded in 1991. Saw the discarded cabinets and even some...

That actually sounds like one heck of a good idea. If you can login to NFS with your membership number, have your temple recommend activated in the MLS when you get it, then after clearing names at home, get the recommend scanned at the temple for the barcode, they then could conceivably scan at the...

I have been at my FHC and the combination of the antivirus and the filtering program for FHCs are very effective. No slowups on even the old castoff PCs they often get, not even on the one Dell XP box they have either. Someone from Ancestry was speaking about things at the PAF user group meeting som...

I heard about it via the Church News section of the Deseret News, which not as many people get outside the Wasatch Front anyway, not even within that paper's as the Deseret News circulation is far outstripped by other newspapers in the area. Some saw it after picking up a copy at a Distribution Serv...

This even has application in family history now that there may be multiple consultants in any given unit doing a variety of things, including member visits. So what may be needing to be done to make it more versatile, is to have a way to set up fields for various positions, and that would allow the ...

I'll have the person that gave me these two things call the support people then. Given the Beta 2 is over, who or what area should she ask for?

I think something is going to work regarding my item 1. Thanks on that. For the second item, it's a little tricky. The person was baptized and endowed, etc., in this life but at some point was excommunicated, then after his death he was rebaptized at a temple. The problem comes when they wanted to c...

Here then are the two issues. 1. Combining names when the order of the names was entered into a previous submission by mistake. This person had a hispanic husband who is long since deceased. He entered some things into PAF and sent them into one of the legacy databases where the records now sit, awa...
