Birthday List

I really like the idea of a birthday list on the site so I tried the method Dennis used but I am not tech savvy enough with spread sheets. Instead, I did it by going into MLS and printing out a birthday list for the ward. I am now in the process of typing them into the news section. I will display 2...

Email suggestion...

I hope that in any new version of the LUWS, serious consideration will be given to making the email broadcast more flexible. In trying to get members, particularly leaders to use the email feature, they point out that they need to communicate with groups that are not listed. For example our stake pr...

Photos at Tithing Setlement

Following a suggestion I found on this forum, I spent all afternoon yesterday lurking in the hall outside the clerk's office at our ward's first day of tithing settlement and was able to get photos of 14 families or individuals to add to the web site. I was also able to give out information on the w...

I suspect you are referring to this thread . I did not think the method described there was so great because it fails to deal with all the resulting errors, but I recall that you liked it. That's it! Thank you... I know some have reported errors but for me, since I am mostly an end user type and no...

HELP! Someone posted a great site to get the instructions for converting a csv membership file so it could be loaded on google earth to map the ward. I did this successfully and sent the instructions to my son who also loaded his ward. I want to give these instructions to someone else and I can't fi...

I'd say that Yahoo groups, or Google groups is an email group. Now, if he was to use the "group" that's part of his email client, that would be acceptable. And for a list of bishops in the stake, that seems quite manageable. Some people might have to learn "reply to all". ;) How...

Good news I hope.... I have been invited to meet with our Stake Presidency to discuss stake and ward web sites and policies. As the stake web administrator, I have been discouraged by the lack of interest of the wards in keeping their web sites current and encouraging members to register. This meet...

Along the same lines, what we've done is place a PDF of the flyer in the "news" area and send a broadcast email. I think one time I included a link. Funny thing, you don't have to be logged into LUWS to use the link. I have used the "Additional Web Resources" to add l...

Here is the solution I came up with for our stake RS who wanted to set up a website to advertise their women's conference and the stake president approved it: . The stake RS president would set up an account with gmail or a similar web based mail program. The email address could be something relate...
