Apples to PC

Apple sells a Mac mini for $599 ----- That is not a complete machine According to Apple's on-line store: "Just BYODKM — bring your own display, keyboard, and mouse." And there are other issues, besides the single source item mentioned by others. Even though it has Intel hardware, it wil...

member search function

The search function does not return family/ household context. In a world of varying surname conventions, blended families, etc --- it would sure help to have the household info returned by search. See http://tech.lds.org/forum/showthread.php?t=2220 as one example of the "problem"

Found -- solution in the works

It is an "envelope" thing. It seems that every member that lives in the same apartment complex is in one apartment/household (according to MLS). My "M" guy shows in a large family headed by a single female "J". Our membership clerk will not be dying of boredom as he sorts that one out --- :p This co...

MLS site as the gate

I don't think there's ever been a question of legality per se, but church policy. the point elderj1 was trying to make is since mls.lds.org points to OpenOffice site rather then a specific version, then it must be acceptable to load whatever is current. I suggested the site as the gate --- if somet...

I am a Mac user

If you save a GEDCOM file to a CD, any computer can read it (Mac, Windows, Linux, etc.) A USB flash drive is even better. *** sigh*** it is possible to format a CD so a Windows machine won't recognize it ---- the how-to (or how-not-to) will depend on which OS you have/ what disk-writing program you...

Return & report request

When you resolve this, please return to this thread and post a note. I'm sure this will help others and it helps us to have closure on a topic.;) Definitely --- I personally hate dangling postings on boards :p It will be Sunday before I can get to the clerk and check the MLS comparison and "family ...

Ver 3 is "legal"

Sadly, I am the STS. . OOo Version 3 is apparently "legal": The church MLS website, through "Additional Local Unit Software" gets you to the current version --- which is the same version available to the rest of the world --- :D http://www.lds.org/mls/login Ya might want to familiarize yourself wit...

Just a thought. Does the information in the MLS program and the LUWS (local unit web site) match for this individual? I've contacted our membership clerk regarding the MLS records. I'll have that info Sunday. I'd suggest a call to clerk support. Clerk support? I'm familiar with MLS support --- woul...

Lost family?

New "webmaster" in a ward I just moved into. The bishop asked me to get photos into the on-line directory. I took some photos of a volunteer, explaining that I'd be experimenting in adding pix to the website. He is not in the ward on-line directory ---- not even in the admin pages. ****However...
