Re: WAP in YSA Ward Clerk's Office

Yes, I am the Stake Technology Specialist. Who are you and do you speak for the Church or is that your opinion?

There are already 1041s that cover that area and the 881 is configured with plenty of ip addresses.

WAP in YSA Ward Clerk's Office

Hi, we have a YSA ward in the stake. Since before the days of 'ldsaccess' wireless access, they have had a wap in their clerk's office that that has its own SSID and gives out ip addresses. The YSA clerk computer even gets its ip address from this wap. The wap is connected to the Cisco 881 and goes ...

Re: How to pay tithing online?

I've been doing this for a couple of years from Provo, UT. My credit union (America First) verified that they do an electronic transfer to the Church.

Re: Hard wire to pulpit

For those with only wireless, I'm curious if all your clerk computers transmit via wireless, also. (I guess they would.) I checked all four buildings in our stake for wired ethernet to the pulpit. Two are quite old buildings, two or somewhat newer. All had wired ethernet at the pulpit except the sta...

CES Fireside over internet instead of satellite

We have a YSA ward in a building that has internet but not satellite. They usually attend CES firesides at the stake center to watch the satellite broadcast. I'd like to consider having them watch CES firesides in their own chapel via the internet broadcast. We have all the equipment needed, I belie...

There's a difference between a blackbox and a silent process. A silent process has no user interaction whatsoever but should still provide messages at lower, non-interactive level. A blackbox process is completely hidden, often even from developers who interface with the process. The blackbox proces...

I agree with drepouille. There is nothing in regards to logging that indicates a problem. That's the problem with blackbox installers. If something goes wrong, no one knows why.

I have the same issue. On September 7th, I downloaded the TEM installer from mls.lds.org and ran it on three clerk computers. I could see the installer running in task manager but it quite after less than a minute. Landesk did not uninstall and is still running and functional, and there is no BES se...
